Product Description
xThe Domus BL-100 is the three-tier bollard head in die-cast aluminium — IP44, 220 mm tall and 160 mm across, taking one E27 globe, in beige, black, silver, green or white.
⚠ Read this first: this is the HEAD, not a complete bollard. The datasheet says it plainly — “tiered conical helmet bollard to suit 76 mm post”. To stand one up in a garden you need three things, and only the first is on this page:
- The head — this product.
- A 76 mm post — sold separately. We stock the powder-coated aluminium post.
- A base to fix the post down — the BB-100 suits 60–76 mm posts.
✅ And the globe is not included either — it takes one E27. If you would rather buy the whole thing as one line, ask us for the BL-100-1M-KIT, which is the same head supplied with a 1 metre post.
What it actually does with light
The three tiers are not decoration. Each one shields the globe from the angle above it, so the fitting throws light downward and outward in bands rather than glaring at eye level. Walking past it you see the bollard glowing, not the lamp.
- A pool at the base, roughly a 2–3 m circle depending on the globe you choose.
- Almost nothing thrown upward — useful next to bedroom windows, and the reason it suits a driveway edge without dazzling a car.
- ⚠ It is a path and edge light, not an area light. To light a whole garden bed you want a flood or a spike.
Choosing the globe — it is not supplied, and it decides everything
Because the BL-100 takes a standard E27, the output, colour and running cost are all your choice:
- Warm 2700–3000 K for a garden. Cool white outdoors reads as a car park.
- Around 800–1,000 lm is the useful range. Brighter than that and the tiers stop hiding the source.
- An opal or frosted globe, not a clear filament — a clear globe is visible through the tier gaps from low angles.
- ⚠ Check the globe is rated for enclosed and outdoor use. Not every LED globe is, and an unrated one runs hot inside a sealed head and fails early.
IP44 — what it covers, and what it does not
IP44 is protection against splashing water from any direction. For a bollard on a post that is the normal and correct rating: rain, sprinklers and hosing the path are all fine.
⚠ It is not IP65 and not IP67. Do not set one where water pools against the base, in a bed that holds water, at the bottom of a driveway that floods, or anywhere it could be submerged even briefly. And because the globe compartment is opened for relamping, make sure the seal is seated properly every time — a bollard that has been relamped carelessly is the most common way one lets water in.
⚠ The warranty here is one year, where most of this catalogue carries three or five. That is worth knowing on a fitting that lives outdoors. It is 240 V mains and needs a licensed electrician and a circuit run out to it — budget for the trenching as well as the fittings.
Die-cast aluminium with a clear glass diffuser, powder-coated. On a coastal site, ask us — powder-coated aluminium is a reasonable choice near salt but it is not stainless.
Where it works
- Path and driveway edges — space them 3–4 m apart for a continuous run.
- Garden beds and lawn borders, on a 76 mm post.
- Entries, where a matching pair either side of a path reads deliberately.
- ⚠ You need the post and the base as well — ask us and we will quote the set.
- ⚠ E27 globe not included. Choose warm, opal, and rated for enclosed outdoor use.
Specifying it
220 mm high, 160 mm diameter, to suit a 76 mm post; head only. In die-cast aluminium with a clear glass diffuser, beige, black, silver, green or white. Questions
Does this come with the post?
No — this is the bollard head only. The datasheet says "to suit 76 mm post". To stand one up you need the head, a 76 mm post and a base to fix it down; we stock all three. If you would rather buy it as one line, ask us for the BL-100-1M-KIT, which is the same head supplied with a 1-metre post.
Does it come with a globe?
No. It takes one E27. Choose a warm 2700–3000 K opal LED of roughly 800–1,000 lumens, and check it is rated for enclosed and outdoor use — an unrated globe runs hot inside a sealed head and fails early.
How far apart should I space them?
3 to 4 metres along a path gives a continuous run. Each one puts a pool of roughly 2 to 3 metres around its base, so at that spacing the pools meet rather than reading as separate dots.
Why three tiers?
Each tier shields the globe from the angle above it, so light leaves in downward bands rather than glaring at eye level. Walking past you see the bollard glowing, not the lamp — and almost nothing is thrown upward, which is why it suits a driveway edge without dazzling a car or a bedroom window.
Can it get wet?
IP44 — splashing water from any direction, so rain, sprinklers and hosing the path are all fine. It is not IP65 or IP67: keep it out of spots where water pools against the base, out of beds that hold water, and away from anywhere it could be submerged. When you relamp it, make sure the seal seats properly — careless relamping is the most common way a bollard lets water in.
What is the warranty?
One year on this product, which is shorter than the three or five years most of this catalogue carries. Worth knowing on a fitting that lives outdoors.
Do I need an electrician?
Yes. It is 240 V mains, so it needs a licensed electrician and a circuit run out to it. Budget for the trenching as well as the fittings.

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.
Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.
Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.
Damaged or Missing Items
Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.
If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.
Returns
Change of Mind Returns
- Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
- The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.
