What fitting does your globe screw into?

Look at the old globe — the base is usually stamped on it. E27 and B22 cover most Australian homes.

Step 2

What sort of light do you want?

Warm is cosy and yellow, cool is bright and white. Most homes use warm in living areas and cool in kitchens and bathrooms.

Step 3

Will it be on a dimmer?

A non-dimmable globe on a dimmer circuit can flicker, buzz, or fail early — worth getting right.

Step 4

How bright?

LED wattage is much lower than the old incandescent globes. A 9W LED is roughly the old 60W.
