Seefore LED Step Light Tri Colour

The Seefore is the square member of the same polycarbonate family as the Seevive, at 3 W rather than 5 W. It is the smaller, dimmer option, and on a step that is usually the right choice — the job is marking the edge, not lighting the ground.

This is a 12V DC fitting and it needs a driver

Both order codes run on 12 V DC only and require a 12 V DC LED driver rated for the total load. The datasheet warns in capitals against connecting the fitting directly to 240 V — that destroys it on the spot and is not a warranty claim. Being low voltage, no earth is needed at the fitting.

Square or rectangular, and why it matters

The square Seefore and the rectangular Seevive share the same body material and the same electrical requirement, so the choice is proportion and output. A square fitting suits a narrow riser or a brick-coursed wall where a rectangle would look stretched; the rectangle throws a wider, lower band of light. At 3 W the Seefore gives roughly two thirds of the Seevive's output, which on a short flight of steps is usually plenty.

Specifying it

The 3 W LED is built in — no globe, no socket. Tri-colour switching covers 3000 K, 4000 K and 5500 K at 90 lm, 95 lm and 100 lm across the three settings, on a 120° beam. Not dimmable. IP65, polycarbonate in black or white at the same price.

Sizing the driver and spacing the run

At 3 W each, a great many Seefore fittings fit on one driver — eight draw only 24 W — so size the driver on total wattage with headroom above it rather than at its ceiling, and put it somewhere that suits its own IP rating: a cavity, meter box or weatherproof enclosure, not buried and not in the weather. Because the output is low and the beam wide, spacing is what makes the run read well. One fitting per step on a short flight, or every second step on a long one, gives a rhythm the eye follows; spacing them further than that turns a guide line into scattered dots that inform nobody.

Setting the colour temperature

Tri-colour is set at the fitting during installation, not adjusted afterwards, so decide once and set every fitting on the flight the same. Warmer 3000 K suits a domestic garden and blends with warm paving; 5500 K is cooler and more commercial. A single fitting left on a different setting is obvious at night and means pulling it off the wall to correct.
