A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
Two independently aimable heads on one metre-long stem — and one restriction to check before you buy. This is the aluminium body, and Havit's installation sheet states that aluminium fittings must not be installed within 2 km of any salt water environment. Within that distance, choose the 316 stainless or solid brass Tivah instead. Beyond it, aluminium is the sensible pick: it is the least expensive twin-head in the family, and powder-coated black it vanishes into planting by day.
Each head carries its own 5 W MR16, so this fitting draws 10 W, not 5 W. Havit's own specification records the lamp wattage for this model as 2 x 5 w and the output as 2 x 270 lm at 3000K, 2 x 285 lm at 4000K and 2 x 300 lm at 5500K — 540, 570 or 600 lm across the fitting. Six of them is a 60 W load, not 30 W, and a driver sized on the single-head figure will be short. The heads are wired in parallel, so one globe failing leaves the other lit.
Each head tilts through 90° and swivels through 270° on its own, so a single fitting can wash a driveway one way and a garden bed the other from one hole in the ground and one cable. Along a path it lights both directions instead of alternating singles down the run. The 1000 mm stem stands the heads near knee height once set — buried or sleeved to suit, and worth deciding before the cable run is closed, since the lead exits the base.
IP65, CRI above 80, and a 3-year replacement warranty.
Send Lights For You your run length and fitting count before you order the driver — with twin-head Tivahs the 10 W figure and the 25 m limit are what decide it.
This fitting runs on 12 V DC and is Protection Class 3 — no earth is required at the fitting. The isolation comes from the LED driver rather than from an earth conductor, and the fitting must never be connected directly to 240 V.
Not within 2 km of salt water. Havit's installation sheet excludes aluminium fittings at that distance, so it is a condition rather than general advice. Closer to the water, the 316 stainless or solid brass twin-head Tivah is the fitting to specify instead.
10 W. Each of the two heads takes its own 5 W MR16 globe, and Havit records the lamp wattage for this model as 2 x 5 w. Size drivers on 10 W per fitting — a run of six is 60 W, and undersizing on the single-head figure is the usual planning mistake with twin heads.
Per head, 270 lm at 3000K, 285 lm at 4000K and 300 lm at 5500K — so 540, 570 or 600 lm across both heads. Havit prints it as 2 x 270 lm and so on, which reflects how it is used, since the two heads are normally aimed at different things.
Yes — each has its own 90° tilt and 270° swivel, so they can face genuinely unrelated targets rather than only fanning apart. Stop when a head reaches its mechanical limit; forcing it further tangles the internal cable and shorts the fitting, which is excluded from warranty.
Physically yes, as each tri-colour globe has its own switch, but the beams overlap and the mismatch shows. Set both the same unless you are deliberately lighting two separate surfaces.
No — both sheets covering this fitting record it as not dimmable with the globes supplied, so it should not go on a dimmed circuit.
Whatever globes are fitted. Both sockets take replaceable MR16s, so the housing has no beam of its own. The tri-colour MR16s supplied are 120° floods; fit narrower MR16s to turn it into a pair of spots, up to the 20 W ceiling per socket.
