This listing sells the 12 W Nella Rotatable in both finishes — HV5823T-WHT in white and HV5823T-BLK in black. It is a surface-mounted fitting, so no ceiling cut-out is required, and it is the directional member of the Nella surface-mounted family: the lower half of the body rotates through 90°, turning a downlight into something much closer to a fixed spot.
The two figures work together and neither means much alone. The head moves 90° — from straight down to horizontal — and the beam it moves is 36°, which is narrow. Havit's own data sheet prints 36° against all four HV5823T part numbers, matched to the barcodes on this listing. That combination makes this a fitting for aiming at something specific: artwork, a stone wall, joinery, a stairwell. It is a poor choice for general room light, where a 60° or 120° Nella covers far more floor for the same wattage. Havit's installation sheet describes redirecting the head by gently moving the bottom half of the fitting, so aiming needs no tool.
A slide switch inside the fitting selects 3000K, 4000K or 5500K before installation. We publish 790 lm at 3000K, 880 lm at 4000K and 855 lm at 5500K, which is what both of the model's dated installation sheets print in the HV5823T column. Havit's own documents disagree about the 5500K figure — its dated data sheet gives 885 lm for the same part numbers — and the two versions put the brightest setting in different places. Rather than pick one and present it as settled, we publish the installation sheets' figures and state the disagreement, and make no claim about which colour temperature is brightest here. The other Nella surface mounts each have a clear answer; this one does not.
Twelve watts through a 36° beam concentrates light rather than spreading it, so the illuminance on the target is higher than the lumen figure suggests and the fall-off around it is quick. That is also its limitation: two of these will light a picture wall beautifully and leave the middle of the room dark. Plan them as accents alongside general lighting, not instead of it.
A Ø65 mm mounting base is fixed to the ceiling — the installation sheet says the base plate is removed by twisting anti-clockwise — and the Ø70 mm body plugs into it. Because the head rotates, Havit's drawing gives two overall height figures rather than one, so no single projection dimension is published here. It runs on 240 V AC, is Protection Class 1 with an earth required at the fitting, and is Triac dimmable, with Havit's HV9625 dimmer offered to suit.
Powder-coated aluminium behind a Glass diffuser — Havit specifies plain glass on the rotatable models where the tilt models get semi frosted glass, so the two are not interchangeable in appearance. Rated IP54, IK07, CRI >80, maximum wattage 12 W, lamp expectancy >30,000 hrs. Its own installation sheet states a condition on the fitting: "Aluminium and 304SS fittings must not be installed within 5km of any salt water environments." Havit's page for these part numbers reads "Built in 12w LED 3 Years replacement warranty (items ordered after 01/01/22)", and HV5823T_Data_Sheet_JULY23.pdf prints "Warranty 3 Years Replacement*". Lights For You publishes here only what this model's own dated sheets and Havit's page for these exact part numbers state.
90°, from pointing straight down to horizontal. Havit’s installation sheet says to redirect it by gently moving the bottom half of the fitting, so no tool is needed once it is installed.
36°. That is narrow, and it is the figure on Havit’s dated data sheet against all four HV5823T part numbers. It makes this an aiming fitting rather than a general-light one.
We do not publish an answer for this fitting, because Havit’s own documents disagree. The installation sheets give 855 lm at 5500K and the data sheet gives 885 lm, and the two versions put the brightest setting in different places. The 3000K and 4000K figures — 790 lm and 880 lm — are consistent across the sheets.
It is not the right choice for that. A 36° beam concentrates light on a target and falls off quickly around it. Use it to light artwork, joinery or a feature wall alongside general lighting, and look at the 60° or 120° Nella surface mounts for room light.
No. A Ø65 mm base is fixed to the ceiling — removed by twisting anti-clockwise, per the installation sheet — and the Ø70 mm body plugs into it.
It is IP54, so it resists dust and splashing, which is a better position than the IP40 tilt models in the same range. It is still not a fitting for a shower zone or direct weather, and its own sheet excludes sites within 5km of any salt water environments.
Yes to both — Triac dimmable from a standard wall dimmer, with Havit’s HV9625 listed to suit, and Protection Class 1, so an earth is required at the fitting.
