CHAM-DIM-DMX - Master LED Universal 4 Channel

The Domus CHAM-DIM-DMX is a four-channel DMX interface for RGB, RGBW and single-colour constant-voltage LED, 12–24 V DC, handling 96 W at 12 V or 192 W at 24 V. 180 × 60 × 34 mm.

What DMX is, and when you would choose it over DALI

• DMX is the entertainment-lighting protocol — theatres, studios, venues, feature architectural lighting and anything driven by a lighting desk or a show controller.
• ✅ It is built for fast, synchronised colour change across many fixtures, which is exactly what DALI is not built for: DALI is a building-management protocol optimised for reliable levels and reporting, not for chases and fades.
• ✅ Choose DMX where the lighting performs — a facade that changes colour, a bar, a venue, a display. Choose DALI where the lighting works — an office, a hotel corridor, a hospital.
• ⚠ They are not interchangeable, and the interface has to match the system. Ordering a DMX interface for a DALI building, or the reverse, is a return.

Four channels, and what each configuration uses

• Single colour — one channel per zone, so up to four zones.
• Tunable white — two channels.
• RGB — three channels.
• RGBW — four channels: colour plus a dedicated white.
• ✅ RGBW gives a proper white where mixing red, green and blue produces a colour cast. On a facade or a bar that spends part of its evening on plain white, that difference is visible.

⚠ It is an interface, not a driver — despite the category

• The chain is three parts: a constant-voltage driver converting mains to 12 or 24 V DC; this interface, which takes the DMX signal; and the LED strip.
• ⛔ The driver and the strip are both separate purchases.
• ⚠ And a DMX installation needs a controller or desk to originate the signal. This device receives; it does not generate.
• ✅ Tell us the whole chain — controller, driver, interface, strip — and we will specify it together.

The load, and why 24 V is the better choice

• ✅ Current-limited, not power-limited — at twice the voltage it carries twice the power for the same current.
• ✅ On a colour installation that matters more than usual, because RGBW strip draws across four channels and the runs tend to be long.
• ⚠ Tell us the strip and the run length and we will check the load against the interface and size the driver at the same time.

Installing it

• 180 × 60 × 34 mm — it fits in a ceiling void, a joinery cavity or a control cabinet.
• ⚠ Keep it dry and accessible. On a DMX installation that matters more than usual, because addressing and troubleshooting happen at the device.
• ⚠ Our record also flags this interface as colour-changing. On a four-channel RGBW device that is defensible — unlike the single-channel DALI version in the same family, where the same flag sits on a product whose own name says single colour.

⛔ The datasheet attached to this product is the DALI 4-channel interface's, and DMX and DALI are different protocols. Its signal voltages, bus current, addressing behaviour and dimming range have been withheld rather than transferred. Ask us and we will get the correct document from Domus.

⛔ A constant-voltage LED driver is required upstream and is not included; the LED strip is separate; and a DMX controller or desk is required to originate the signal. Warranty 3 years.
