BLAST 52 INCH DC 4 BLADE CEILING FAN

The Domus BLAST 52 is a 1,321 mm four-blade DC ceiling fan with a 9-speed remote, reverse winter/summer mode, a tropical rating, and an optional 18 W LED light kit.

Four blades at 52 inches, and what it moves

• 1,321 mm sweep, 14.5° blade pitch, 14,305 m³/h airflow.
• ✅ 52 inches suits a larger living room — an open-plan space, a big bedroom, a covered alfresco. For a room up to roughly 4 × 4 m the 48-inch three-blade is enough.
• ⚠ Four blades versus three is a smaller difference than people expect. Four run slightly smoother and marginally quieter at speed; three are a touch more efficient. At the speeds people actually use, the choice comes down to size and looks.
• ⚠ Check the clearance. At 1,321 mm the blade tips need room from walls, beams, pendant lights and the top of any door that swings beneath.

Why a DC motor

• ✅ 25 W at full speed against roughly 70–80 W for a comparable AC fan — and on a fan this size, running through a summer, that gap is substantial.
• ✅ Nine genuinely variable speeds rather than three fixed taps, so the lowest setting is a slow drift rather than “low”.
• ✅ Quieter at low speed, which is what matters overnight.
• ⚠ Speed is controlled electronically, so the remote and receiver are part of the system rather than accessories — and they carry a shorter warranty than the fan.

⚠ The warranty is two terms, not one

Our record shows 6 years. The datasheet reads:

⛔ That is not a six-year warranty. Three years where Domus attends, then three where parts are replaced but the labour is yours — and the electronics carry one year. ✅ We set it out rather than let the summed figure stand.

The light kit is optional and separate

• An 18 W LED kit with 3000 K / 4000 K / 5000 K switchable and dimmable from the remote.
• ⚠ Our record carries the kit's colour temperatures and a colour-changing flag on the fan itself. The fan has no light unless you buy the kit.
• ✅ Remote control of colour and level, rather than a dip switch, means adjusting from the sofa instead of from a ladder.
• ✅ Ask us to quote them together.

Construction and rating

• ABS polymer motor housing, canopy and blades. ✅ Polymer does not warp with humidity the way timber can, and it is light — part of what lets a DC motor run so efficiently.
• Tropically rated for heat and humidity.
• ⚠ The datasheet gives IPX0 — no water protection. Tropical rating and weather rating are different things: this is an indoor or fully covered fan.
• ✅ An extension rod is available for high or raked ceilings.

• ✅ Covered alfrescos and humid climates — tropically rated, polymer blades.
