The Domus DEEP-10 is a 10 W deep-set tiltable downlight with a COB chip and reflector, a 36° beam, switchable 3000 K / 4000 K / 5000 K, and DALI dimming. Cutout Ø75 mm; fascia Ø85 mm; 81 mm deep.

A 36° beam on a tiltable downlight — what that is for

• 36° is narrow for a downlight, where 60° is the general-purpose spread.
• ✅ Combined with a tilt head that is an accent fitting, not a room light: it places a defined pool on a specific thing rather than washing an area.
• ✅ Artwork, a joinery elevation, a bar back, a feature stone wall — the beam is tight enough to have an edge.
• ⛔ Do not light a room with these. At 36° on a 2.7 m ceiling each fitting covers a little under two metres, so a general run would need a great many and would still read as a series of pools.
• ✅ The COB chip and reflector are what make a tight beam clean — a single emitter behind a reflector gives a defined edge, where a multi-emitter SMD array behind a lens tends to produce a soft, multi-shadowed one.

The numbers

• 767 lm at 3000 K, 833 lm at 4000 K, 900 lm at 5000 K from 10 W. ✅ Record and datasheet agree exactly.
• ⚠ Output rises with colour temperature here — 5000 K is 17% brighter than 3000 K. On an accent fitting that is worth knowing, because you are usually matching the light to a material rather than a room.
• Ø75 mm cutout, Ø85 mm fascia, 81 mm deep. ⚠ Deep for its aperture — check the void.
• CRI ≥80, 50,000 hours, aluminium body, 240 V AC.

DALI dimming

• Addressable digital control — each fitting gets an address, so a building management system can dim and group them individually.
• ⛔ It needs a DALI system. Without a controller or gateway on the circuit there is nothing to send it a level.
• ✅ On an accent fitting that is often exactly right: gallery and retail lighting is usually re-zoned as displays change, and DALI does that in software rather than with a rewire.
• ⚠ Its title says "Trio/Dali" and its record says both, but the two variants are simply black and white. Ask us whether the fitting is DALI-only or whether a Trio dip-switch version exists — the DEEP-12 is sold as two separate listings, and this one is not.

Deep-set, and why it matters more on a tilt

• The LED sits well back from the aperture. ✅ On a tiltable fitting that is more valuable than on a fixed one: a tilted head points its aperture toward the room, so without the recess you would be looking straight into the source from across the space.
• ✅ Aim it after the room is furnished, which is the practical advantage over planning from a drawing.
• ⚠ Set a run of them consistently. Tilt heads that are not quite parallel read as sloppy, and on an accent run the eye follows the beams.

Where it works

• ✅ Artwork, joinery elevations, bar backs and feature walls — a defined 36° pool.
• ✅ Galleries and retail, where DALI re-zoning earns its keep.
• ✅ Dry interiors.
• ⛔ Not a wet area until the IP rating is confirmed — the datasheet says IP40.
• ⛔ Not general room lighting — 36° is an accent beam.
• ⛔ Not without a DALI system.

⛔ IP rating unresolved: our record and the title say IP44; the datasheet says IP40 — no water protection. The second digit is the water one. The Deep-12 DALI carries the same discrepancy, so we are treating it as a range issue and specifying this as a dry-area fitting until Domus confirms otherwise. Warranty 3 years.
