The Domus DEEP-10 is a 10 W deep-set tiltable downlight with a COB chip and reflector, a 36° beam, switchable 3000 K / 4000 K / 5000 K, and DALI dimming. Cutout Ø75 mm; fascia Ø85 mm; 81 mm deep.
⛔ Its ingress rating is in dispute, and the difference is not cosmetic.
| Source | Rating | Means |
|---|---|---|
| Our record and the product title | IP44 | Protected against splashing water |
| The datasheet | IP40 | ⛔ No water protection at all |
The second digit is the water one, and 0 against 4 is the difference between a fitting you can put in a bathroom outside the shower zone and one you cannot.
⚠ This is the second DEEP fitting we have found with exactly this discrepancy — the Deep-12 DALI carries the same IP44-against-IP40 conflict. Two of two makes it a range pattern rather than a one-off, so we are treating it as unresolved.
⛔ Specify it as a dry-area fitting until Domus confirms otherwise, and ask us if a wet area is the intention — we will get it in writing.
10 W COB LED deep-set tiltable downlight with reflector. Cutout Ø75 mm. Fascia Ø85 mm, 81 mm deep. Aluminium. Output 767 / 833 / 900 lm at 3000 K / 4000 K / 5000 K, switchable. 36° beam, CRI ≥80, 50,000 hrs. DALI dimmable — a DALI controller or gateway is required. 240 V AC. Black or white.
⛔ IP rating unresolved: our record and the title say IP44; the datasheet says IP40 — no water protection. The second digit is the water one. The Deep-12 DALI carries the same discrepancy, so we are treating it as a range issue and specifying this as a dry-area fitting until Domus confirms otherwise. Warranty 3 years.

Not until the rating is confirmed, and we would rather say that than guess. Our record and the product title say IP44 — splashing water — while the datasheet says IP40, which is no water protection at all. The second digit is the water one, so that is the difference between a fitting you can use outside a shower zone and one you cannot. The Deep-12 DALI carries exactly the same discrepancy, which makes it a range issue rather than a one-off. Specify it as a dry-area fitting and ask us if a wet area is the intention.
Ø75 mm, from its own datasheet, with an Ø85 mm fascia. It is 81 mm deep, which is deep for that aperture — check the void, particularly if you are retrofitting into a shallow ceiling.
For general lighting, yes — 60° is the usual spread and 36° is an accent beam. On a 2.7 m ceiling each fitting covers a little under two metres, so a general run would need a great many and would still read as a series of pools. Use it for artwork, a joinery elevation, a bar back or a feature wall, where a defined edge is the point.
Because it makes a tight beam clean. A single emitter behind a reflector gives a defined edge, where a multi-emitter SMD array behind a lens tends to produce a soft, multi-shadowed one. On a 36° accent fitting that difference is visible on the object you are lighting.
Yes — DALI is a digital protocol, so without a controller or gateway on the circuit there is nothing to send this fitting a level and it will not dim. On an accent fitting that is often exactly right, because gallery and retail lighting gets re-zoned as displays change and DALI does that in software rather than with a rewire.
Ask us, because the listing does not settle it: the title and the record both mention Trio and DALI, but the two variants are simply black and white rather than a Trio-versus-DALI split. The DEEP-12 in the same family is sold as two separate listings. We will confirm with Domus whether a Trio dip-switch version of this fitting exists.
Yes, and it rises with temperature here: 767 lumens at 3000 K, 833 at 4000 K and 900 at 5000 K — 5000 K is 17% brighter than 3000 K. On an accent fitting that matters, because you are usually choosing the colour to suit a material rather than a room, and the brightness comes along with it.
