The Domus ZOOM-PRO 12 is a 12 W COB LED garden spike light running on 12 V or 24 V DC, IP67, with a 40° beam and switchable 3000 K / 4000 K / 5000 K.

⛔ It needs a low-voltage driver, and it is not included. This is a 12 V / 24 V DC fitting — it does not connect to mains. That is deliberate and it is the reason to choose it: low-voltage garden cable can be run by the homeowner and buried shallow, where 240 V in a garden must be installed by an electrician in conduit at depth.

Tell us how many you are running and over what distance and we will size the driver. Voltage drop over a long garden run is the thing that catches people out — the fittings at the far end go dim — and running the system at 24 V rather than 12 V halves the current for the same power, which is usually the fix.

IP67, and what that actually permits
  • IP67 is immersion, not just splash. Protected against temporary submersion — which for a spike light matters, because a garden bed floods, mulch piles up around it and sprinklers hit it directly.
  • ✅ It is the right rating for the job, and higher than most exterior fittings in this catalogue.
  • ⚠ Temporary submersion is not permanent. Do not site it at the bottom of a hollow that holds water after rain.
The 40° beam is the point of a “PRO” spike
  • 40° is a narrow flood — wide enough to cover a shrub or a tree trunk, tight enough that the light lands on the plant rather than washing across the fence behind it.
  • ✅ Uplighting a specimen tree, a palm, a rendered wall or a feature planting is exactly what this beam is for.
  • ⛔ It is not a path light. A 40° beam on a spike aimed along a path gives you glare in the eye and a hot spot, not an even walking surface.
  • 870 lm at 3000 K, 980 lm at 4000 K, 930 lm at 5000 K — genuinely bright for a garden fitting.
Choosing the colour outdoors
  • 3000 K — the default outside a house. Warm light on rendered walls, timber and paving looks like light; cooler light looks like security.
  • 4000 K — green foliage. Neutral white makes leaves read green rather than olive, so it is the better choice pointed into a canopy.
  • ⚠ 5000 K — commercial and security. It will make a domestic garden look like a car park.
  • Set the dip switch before the fitting is spiked in and the cable is buried.
⚠ 30,000 hours, not 50,000

Most of this catalogue is rated 50,000 hours. This one is 30,000, which is normal for a COB chip in a sealed outdoor body running warm.

⚠ It is worth knowing because of where it goes. A garden spike ends up buried in mulch and planted around; replacing it is a gardening job, not a ladder job. At six hours a night, 30,000 hours is still comfortably over a decade — but specify accordingly if it is going somewhere that will be hard to reach in five years' time.

Does it plug into mains?

No. It runs on 12 V or 24 V DC and needs a low-voltage driver, which is not included. That is the reason to choose it rather than a drawback: low-voltage garden cable can be run by a homeowner and buried shallow, where 240 V in a garden must be installed by an electrician in conduit at depth.

How many can I run from one driver?

It depends on the distance as much as the count, so tell us the layout and we will size it. Voltage drop over a long garden run is what catches people out — the fittings at the far end go visibly dim. Can it sit in a garden bed that floods?

Yes — IP67 covers temporary submersion, not just splash, which is exactly the right rating for a spike that gets mulch piled around it and sprinklers pointed at it. Temporary is not permanent, though: do not site it at the bottom of a hollow that holds water for days after rain.

Is it a path light?

No. The 40° beam is a narrow flood made for putting light onto a plant or a wall. Aimed along a path at ankle height it gives you glare and a hot spot rather than an even walking surface. Ask us for a bollard or a spread light if the path is what you are lighting.

Which colour temperature for a garden?

3000 K as the default — warm light on render, timber and paving reads as light, where cooler light reads as security. 4000 K is the better choice pointed into a canopy, because neutral white makes foliage read green rather than olive. 5000 K will make a domestic garden look like a car park.

Why is the lifespan only 30,000 hours?

That is normal for a COB chip in a sealed outdoor body running warm, and most of this catalogue quotes 50,000 by comparison. It matters here because of where the fitting goes: a garden spike ends up buried in mulch and planted around, so replacing it is a gardening job. At six hours a night, 30,000 hours is still comfortably over a decade.

Can I dim it?

No. It is not dimmable, and the colour switch is a dip switch set once before installation rather than a control. Set it before the fitting is spiked in and the cable is buried.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
