The Vybor FL is a 1,650 mm floor lamp in travertine, iron and fabric, in beige and ivory — one E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied, on 2 metres of flex.
It is real travertine, and our record did not say so. The material list held iron and fabric only. Travertine is quarried natural stone — the same limestone used for floors and benchtops — and it is the entire reason this lamp costs what it costs.
Two consequences worth knowing:
It plugs into a power point. Our page said it “must be installed by a licensed electrician”. It has 2 metres of flex and is Class II double insulated. Removed.
The Vybor is deliberately quiet in colour and unusual in form: neutral beige stone with an ivory fabric shade whose profile is the distinguishing feature of the range.
That combination is why it suits bohemian, coastal, Japandi and warm-minimal rooms — all of which are built on natural materials in neutral tones, where the texture does the work that colour does elsewhere. A black metal floor lamp in the same position reads as a fixture; the Vybor reads as part of the furniture.
At this height the bottom of the shade clears a seated head, so light comes down over the shoulder onto the page rather than into the face — the right geometry for a reading position. The fabric shade throws light up and down and keeps the globe hidden, giving a soft pool below and a wash on the ceiling.
The globe is yours, and the choice is simple. One E27 to 25 W, not supplied. Nothing shows through the shade, so brightness and warmth are the only decisions — use warm 2700 K, which suits beige stone and ivory fabric. Cool white makes a warm neutral palette look grey.
Dimming depends on the globe. Our record says “No”; the datasheet and our own page both say globe dependent, and they are right. On a plug-in lamp that needs an inline or plug-in dimmer. Beside a reading chair it is worth doing — ask us and we will match the pair.
Vybor is made as a floor lamp and a table lamp, in the same stone and fabric. The table lamp is 6.1 kg — almost as heavy as this one, because the stone is the same — so a pair reads as one material idea at two heights. Very few ranges in this catalogue give you that.
1,650 mm high, shade 300 mm, base 230 mm, flex 2,000 mm, 6.8 kg, in iron, TRAVERTINE and fabric, beige and ivory, textured. One E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied; dimming is globe dependent and needs an inline or plug-in dimmer. 240 V, plug-in — no electrician required, Class II — double insulated, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
Yes — quarried natural limestone, the same material used for floors and benchtops, and the entire reason this lamp costs what it costs. Our record listed only iron and fabric, losing it.
Not exactly. Natural stone carries its own banding, pitting and tone, so every piece is different — which is the point of it rather than a fault.
No. It has 2 metres of flex and is double insulated — fit a globe and plug it in. Our page said otherwise, which was wrong.
Very. At 6.8 kg it is close to the heaviest floor lamp reviewed in this programme, and most of that mass is stone, low down, in a 230 mm base — exactly where weight helps. A 1.65-metre lamp that is genuinely hard to knock over, where the light lamps in this catalogue are not.
