The Virell WB2 is a 260 mm twin crystal wall light in chrome or gold — two E14 globes to 25 W each, not supplied, on an iron and stainless steel frame with crystal detailing.
The globe choice decides whether the crystal works at all — and no source said a word about it. This is the one thing worth getting right on a crystal fitting.
Ask us and we will match a pair.
Two E14 to 25 W each — 50 W total, not supplied. E14 is the small screw base, a candle or golf-ball globe. Our product record said 25 W, halving the fitting; the page had it right.
It dims, with the right globes. Our record says “No”; the datasheet and our page both say globe dependent, and they are right — nothing in a fitting that simply holds two E14s prevents it. On a crystal fitting, dimming is worth having: low, the sparkle becomes the only thing you see, which is exactly the effect the crystal is for. Two LEDs on one dimmer want to be the same brand.
A substantial wall light at 1.43 kg. The 170 mm projection puts it in the middle of the range here — more presence than the flat Rimini at 75 mm, considerably less reach than the Farnix at 254 — so it reads as an object on the wall without being something you walk into in a hallway.
⚠ The backplate is 100 mm on a 260 mm fitting. If you are replacing an existing wall light, that small plate may not cover the paint marks or the patch left behind. Measure what is on the wall first.
Both are on the same iron and stainless steel frame, so the difference is entirely one of how much you want to see the fitting against how much you want to see the crystal.
Virell is made as a pendant as well as this wall light, sharing the crystal detailing — so a hallway or stairwell can carry the pendant as the main event and these as companions along the wall, which is how a crystal scheme is normally built.
IP20 — indoor and dry locations only, so not a bathroom, and Class I — earth required, hard-wired, so a licensed electrician installs it.
260 mm wide by 300 mm high, projection 170 mm, backplate 100 mm, 1.43 kg, in iron, stainless steel and crystal, chrome or gold. Two E14 globes to 25 W each — 50 W total, NOT supplied; dimming is globe dependent. 240 V, Class I — earth required, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
Clear ones, with a small bright filament — a clear candle or golf-ball LED in each holder. Crystal refracts a point source into sparkle; a frosted or opal globe has no point to refract, so the crystal goes flat and grey and you have paid for detailing you cannot see. No source gave this advice, and it is the one thing worth getting right.
Two E14 to 25 W each — 50 W in total, not supplied. Our record said 25 W, halving the fitting; the page had it right. Buy the two together: on a twin fitting at eye height, mismatched globes are immediately obvious.
Yes, with dimmable globes. Our record says “No”; the datasheet and our page both say globe dependent, and they are right. On a crystal fitting dimming is worth having — low, the sparkle becomes the only thing you see, which is the effect the crystal is for.
Chrome is cool and reflective; it disappears into a light wall and lets the crystal carry the fitting. Gold is warm and reads as the fitting rather than vanishing, and sits with brass hardware, timber and warm paint. Same frame either way — the difference is how much you want to see the fitting against the crystal.
Possibly not — the backplate is 100 mm on a 260 mm fitting, so it is much smaller than the light itself. Measure what is on the wall before ordering a replacement.
No — IP20, indoor and dry locations only.
Yes — the Virell pendant shares the crystal detailing, so a hallway or stairwell can carry the pendant as the main event with these as companions along the wall. That is how a crystal scheme is normally built.
