Product Description
xThe Verdun PE40 is a 400 mm contoured frosted glass pendant in antique gold — one E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied, on a 2,000 mm suspension.
⚠ The larger Verdun is not the brighter one. Both sizes take the same single E27 globe to 25 W, so the 400 mm gives no more light than the 265 mm — the form simply grows.
Choose it because 400 mm is the proportion the room needs. If you want more light, the answer is more pendants, not a bigger one.
Contoured frosted glass — and why it can hang low
The shade is frosted and contoured: a shaped profile rather than a plain dome, which is what gives the Verdun its traditional character. The frosting has one consequence that decides where it can go — the globe is completely hidden and there is no glare from any angle.
So the Verdun can hang low: over a dining table where people sit under it, above a kitchen island at eye level, in a hallway you walk beneath. The clear and tinted-glass pendants in this catalogue cannot — their sources are visible and they have to sit above eye level.
The contour adds something the plainer frosted pendants do not: as light passes through a shaped shade, the curve produces gradation, so the glass is brighter where it turns and softer where it flattens. It reads as a traditional fitting rather than a modern globe.
The globe choice is simple, and the light is warm
One E27 to 25 W, not supplied. Nothing shows through frosted glass, so brightness and warmth are the only decisions — no decorative filament needed. Use warm 2700 K: against antique gold, cool white reads green and flattens the finish.
It dims, with the right globe — and here our page had it right. The specification table said “Globe Dependant”, which is correct; our product record said “No”, which is not. On a frosted contoured shade, dimming is very good: low, the whole 400 mm becomes a soft even lantern and the contour is all you see. Ask us to match a dimmable globe to your dimmer.
400 mm across, 320 high
On a 120 mm canopy with 2,000 mm of adjustable drop. At this size the Verdun works as a single piece over a dining table or in an entry, where the 265 mm is better grouped over an island — which, since both take the same globe, is also how you get more light.
⚠ No weight is recorded for a 400 mm iron and glass pendant. Ask us before the fixing is chosen. It is Class I — earth required and IP20 — indoor and dry locations only.

Is the 400mm brighter than the 265mm?
No — both take the same single E27 to 25 W. The form grows; the light does not. Choose it because 400 mm is the proportion the room needs, and if you want more light, use more pendants.
Can I hang it low over a table?
Yes, and that is one of its strengths. The frosted shade hides the globe completely with no glare from any angle, so it works at eye level over a table or island — where the clear and tinted-glass pendants here have to hang above eye level.

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.
Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.
Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.
Damaged or Missing Items
Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.
If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.
Returns
Change of Mind Returns
- Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
- The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Cancellations
Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
