The Vantel PE40 is a 400 mm circular pendant in black — integrated 26 W giving 750 lm, with selectable 3000 K / 4000 K / 5000 K, and it dims.
⚠ Do not choose this on its wattage. Read the light output.
| 400 mm pendant | Power | Output | Efficacy |
|---|---|---|---|
| VANTEL PE40 | 26 W | 750 lm | 29 lm/W |
| TRUVON PE40 | 20 W | 1,550 lm | 77.5 lm/W |
The Vantel uses 30% more power for less than half the light. Someone comparing two 400 mm pendants on wattage alone would get this exactly backwards, and nothing on either page told them.
That is not a fault — it is the design. The Vantel's light passes through a silicone diffuser, which absorbs a great deal and in exchange gives a continuous, even, glare-free ring with no visible LEDs anywhere in it. You are buying the quality of the light, not the quantity.
A soft, even ring of light. Over a dining table it is a decorative and atmospheric fitting, and with the dimming it is a good one. It is not enough to light a kitchen or an open-plan room on its own — plan downlights alongside it, or hang two or three, which is how a ring pendant is usually used.
If you want one 400 mm pendant to light a table by itself, ask us about the Truvon instead — though note the Truvon does not dim, and this one does.
A continuous illuminated ring, which is a genuinely different object from a shade with a light inside it. The silicone diffuser is what makes it work: flexible, seamless and evenly translucent, so the ring glows uniformly all the way round with no dots, no bright spots and no join. A rigid acrylic ring shows every one of those.
Silicone is in the datasheet materials and was missing from our record, which listed aluminium and iron — the two things you cannot see.
The datasheet and our record both say dimmable. Neither says how — there is no TRIAC, 0–10 V or remote noted anywhere. On a hard-wired 240 V fitting the usual answer is a TRIAC wall dimmer, but we are not going to assert it. Tell us your dimmer, or ask before you buy one, and we will confirm compatibility with Telbix.
Given the modest output, the dimming matters: at 750 lm this is an atmosphere fitting, and the level is most of the effect.
3000 K warm for dining and living rooms — the right answer in most homes. 4000 K neutral over a work surface. 5000 K cool, which belongs in a commercial fit-out rather than a house.
⚠ Decide before the electrician leaves. Our record flags the Vantel as colour changing, which overstates it — the setting is made at the fitting, at installation. And if you are hanging two or three in a row, set them all the same: a run with one different is obvious, and correcting it means getting the electrician back.
⚠ A note on our data. The datasheet for the Vantel carries three zero-value dimension cells — height, length and width all “0” — a zero colour temperature that contradicts its own three-colour field, and zero lamp holders on a fitting that plainly has one. The 400 mm width and 2,000 mm suspension here come from our product record and the manufacturer's own page. We do not have a height or a weight for this fitting — ask us before the fixing is chosen.
400 mm across, canopy 80 mm, suspension 2,000 mm, in aluminium, iron and SILICONE, black. Height and weight are not recorded — ask us. Integrated 26 W LED giving 750 lm, included, with 3000 K / 4000 K / 5000 K set at installation, CRI >80, and dimming — method not recorded; confirm with us. 240 V, Class I — earth required, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.

Do not read it that way. It gives 750 lumens — the Truvon PE40, the same 400 mm size, gives 1,550 from 20 watts. The Vantel uses 30% more power for less than half the light, because its silicone diffuser absorbs heavily. That is the design, not a fault: you are buying an even, glare-free ring with no visible LEDs, so the quality of the light rather than the quantity.
Not on its own. Plan downlights alongside it, or hang two or three, which is how a ring pendant is usually used. If you want one 400 mm pendant to light a table by itself, ask us about the Truvon — though the Truvon does not dim and this one does.

Neither is recorded. The datasheet carries three zero-value dimension cells — height, length and width all “0” — so we have the 400 mm width and the 2,000 mm suspension and nothing else. Ask us before the fixing is chosen.
Yes, and over a long table or island that is the better use of it — two or three rings give both the light and the rhythm that one cannot.
