Vanita indoor LED wall light — four sizes, black or white

The Vanita is a linear indoor wall light sold in four lengths and two finishes, giving eight part numbers on this page. It is the fitting specified above a mirror, along a corridor, or across a joinery run where a continuous line of light is wanted rather than a point source.

Above a bathroom or bedroom mirror in particular, a horizontal linear fitting does something downlights cannot: it lights a face from the front rather than from overhead, which removes the shadows under the eyes and chin that make an overhead-lit mirror unflattering to use.

Four sizes, four outputs

The four lengths draw 20W, 30W, 40W and 50W, and output rises with length: the sets run 1400lm, 1500lm and 1450lm at the smallest, through 2100lm, 2200lm and 2150lm, then 2800lm, 2900lm and 2850lm, up to 3500lm, 3600lm and 3550lm at the largest. Each set corresponds to the three colour settings.

Choose length by the surface, not by brightness. A fitting noticeably shorter than the mirror or joinery it sits above looks like an accident; matching it, or running the full width deliberately, is what makes a linear fitting look intended. If you tell us the mirror or cabinet width, Lights For You can confirm which of the four sizes is the right part number before you order.

Colour temperature and dimming

The Vanita is tri-colour — 3000K, 4000K or 5500K, selected on the fitting at installation rather than fixed at manufacture. Colour rendering is above 80 CRI and the beam is 120°.

For a mirror light 4000K is usually the right answer: warm enough not to feel clinical, neutral enough that makeup and shaving read accurately rather than being corrected for a warm cast. The fitting is Triac dimmable, so it can drop to a lower level for evening use through a conventional LED-rated wall dimmer.

Power and installation

The Vanita runs on 240V AC mains with no driver required. It is a Class 1 fitting and requires an earth connection, so installation is work for a licensed electrician.

It is rated IP44 for splashing water, which is what allows it to be used in a bathroom — though the specific zone requirements around a basin or bath should be confirmed by the electrician rather than assumed from the rating. It is rated IK02 for impact, which is low, so it is not a fitting for a position where it will be knocked. Rated lamp expectancy is >30,000 hrs and the LED is built in.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
