Product Description
xThe Valtor FL is a 1,500 mm floor lamp with a laser-cut cylindrical shade — black or white, both with antique gold — one E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied, on 2 metres of flex.
It plugs into a power point. Our page said it “must be installed by a licensed electrician”. It has 2 metres of flex and is Class II double insulated — fit a globe and plug it in. Removed.
The laser-cut pattern — and what our page was cut off before explaining
The shade is a cylinder pierced with a laser-cut pattern, and it does something a plain shade cannot: light escapes through every cut as well as out of the top and bottom, so the fitting projects its pattern onto the walls and ceiling around it.
At 1.5 metres tall, with the shade at around head height, that pattern lands across a large area of wall — which makes the Valtor a fitting that changes the room rather than just lighting a corner of it.
The effect depends on the globe, and it is not supplied.
- A compact clear or lightly frosted globe gives sharp, defined pattern — the whole point.
- A large opal globe fills the cylinder with diffuse light and the pattern goes soft and muddy.
- Use warm 2700 K — against antique gold, cool white reads green.

1,500 mm tall on a 250 mm base
Shade 250 mm wide by 300 mm high, on a 250 mm base, at 4.4 kg. The base is as wide as the shade, which on a 1.5-metre lamp gives it a genuinely stable footprint — unlike several floor lamps in this range that balance a wide shade on a narrow base.
Dimming depends on the globe. Our record says “No”; the datasheet says globe dependent, and the datasheet is right. On a plug-in lamp that needs an inline or plug-in dimmer — and on a pattern-casting fitting, dimming is especially worth having: low, the projected pattern is most of what you see and the room becomes about the shadows. Ask us and we will match the pair.
Black or white, both with antique gold
The antique gold is constant; the shade colour changes the projected pattern:
- White — the shade itself glows as well as projecting, so you get pattern plus a soft lit cylinder. Brighter and gentler.
- Black — almost nothing passes through the shade material, so only the cut pattern reads. Much higher contrast: sharp bright shapes on a dark form.
So this is a choice about the effect, not the colour.
It matches the Valtor table lamp exactly — same laser-cut cylinder, same finishes, at 490 mm with a 180 mm shade. A pair works well, though note the table lamp is far lighter and on a much narrower base.
Where it works
- Living-room corners and beside sofas — pattern across the wall.
- Bedrooms, dimmed low, where the pattern is the whole effect.
- Rooms with plain walls, which the projection needs.
- ⚠ Use a compact clear globe — an opal one blurs the pattern.
- ⚠ Not a reading lamp — most of the light goes into the pattern.

Do I need an electrician?
No. It has 2 metres of flex and is double insulated — fit a globe and plug it in. Our page said otherwise, which was wrong.

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.
Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.
Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.
Damaged or Missing Items
Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.
If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.
Returns
Change of Mind Returns
- Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
- The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Our Rights
We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.
Cancellations
Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
