The Vallejo PE60 is a 600 mm woven raffia pendant in natural — one E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied, at only 155 mm deep and 3.7 kg.
It is a wide, shallow drum — 600 mm across and 155 deep — and the page never said so. The 60 in the name is the diameter, not a height, and its specification table listed only the finish and the maximum wattage.
That proportion is the whole point. A wide shallow drum over a dining table stays above the sightline between people sitting opposite each other, while spreading its light across the full width of the table. A deep pendant of the same diameter would hang into that line.
The shade is woven raffia, a natural palm fibre — and our record did not mention it at all, on a fitting where the material is the product.
Woven fibre behaves differently from every other shade material in this catalogue:
Two practical notes nobody gave you. Dust it with a soft brush or a vacuum brush attachment — never a damp cloth, because natural fibre absorbs. And keep it out of direct sun: raffia fades and dries over years in strong light, which matters if it hangs near a large window.
That is worth stating plainly, because a woven shade reads as light and this one is not: 3.7 kg is more than the 2.3 kg Truvon and the 2.7 kg Lyric oyster.
⚠ On a 2,000 mm suspension the mount takes movement as well as dead weight. It is not a structural fixing, but it is past a bare ceiling rose — tell your electrician the figure.
One E27 to 25 W, not supplied.
Because light passes through the weave, the globe is partly visible as a bright core — it is not hidden the way it would be behind opal glass or opaque fabric.
It dims, with the right globe — the datasheet says globe dependent, and the specification table carried no dimming row at all. On a raffia shade dimming is lovely: low, the weave itself becomes the only thing you see.
The Vallejo suits coastal, bohemian, Japandi and warm-minimal interiors — all built on natural materials in neutral tones, where texture does the work colour does elsewhere. It sits with timber, linen, rattan, jute and limewash.
⚠ In a hard contemporary room — gloss, chrome, dark stone — it will look out of place rather than a contrast.
The description suggests using it as a pair above a kitchen island, and that is good advice: at 600 mm two read better along a bench than one, and the shallow 155 mm depth keeps sightlines clear across an open-plan room.
240 V, Class I — earth required, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only, in iron and raffia, on a 2,000 mm suspension. A second size is made — ask us.
600 mm diameter by 155 mm deep, suspension 2,000 mm, 3.7 kg, in iron and woven RAFFIA, natural. One E27 globe to 25 W — fit a warm LED at 8–10 W, not supplied; dimming is globe dependent. 240 V, Class I — earth required, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.

A wide shallow drum — 600 mm across and only 155 deep, and the page never said so: the 60 in the name is the diameter. That proportion is the point, because a wide shallow drum over a dining table stays above the sightline between people sitting opposite each other while spreading light across the full width.
A woven natural palm fibre — and our record did not mention it at all, on a fitting where the material is the product. Light passes through the weave itself, so the shade glows all over and the weave pattern is projected as a soft dappled texture on the ceiling and walls, which no glass or fabric shade produces. Raffia is also a natural straw colour, so it tints everything passing through it a little golden.
Not exactly. It is a hand-woven natural material, so the weave, the tone and the density vary from shade to shade. That is the point of it rather than a fault.
A soft brush or a vacuum brush attachment — never a damp cloth, because natural fibre absorbs. And keep it out of direct sun: raffia fades and dries over years in strong light, which matters if it hangs near a large window.
A warm 2700 K LED at 8 to 10 watts. Because light passes through the weave the globe is partly visible as a bright core, so a frosted or opal globe works better than a clear filament, which shows as a hard point through the gaps. And do not oversize it — 25 W is a real limit in an enclosed woven shade, and natural fibre and heat are not a good combination.
3.7 kg — heavier than a woven shade looks, and more than the 2.3 kg Truvon or the 2.7 kg Lyric oyster. On a two-metre suspension the mount takes movement as well as dead weight, so tell your electrician the figure; it is past a bare ceiling rose.
With the right globe — the datasheet says globe dependent and the specification table had no dimming row. On a raffia shade it is lovely: low, the weave itself becomes the only thing you see.
