Turin Table Lamp

The Turin TL is a 430 mm table lamp in satin iron — one E14 globe to 25 W, not supplied — in taupe or black.

E14, not E27 — and that is a real difference

The Turin takes the smaller E14 candle base rather than the standard E27. Two things follow. First, the shade can be smaller — at 120 mm wide by 155 mm high it is genuinely compact, which is what lets the lamp sit on a narrow surface. Second, check your globe drawer: E14 is common but not universal, and an E27 will not fit.

Compact and grounded

430 mm tall, 260 mm long, 150 mm wide, at 1.7 kg on a 150 mm base. That is heavy for its size — solid iron rather than a hollow shell — and it is what stops a small lamp being dragged around by its own cable.

Taupe or black, in satin

Taupe is a grey-brown that sits quietly against almost any wall — the reason to pick it over black is that it does not draw the eye. Black reads as a defined object. Both are satin, so neither throws a hard reflection from its own globe. Note that the SKU code says KH for khaki and the old copy called it khaki; the colour you select is taupe, and it is the same finish.

One of a family of three

Turin runs as a table lamp, a floor lamp and a five-light pendant in the same satin iron and the same two colours — and the pendant can be hung vertically or horizontally, which is unusual. A room can carry two or three Turin pieces that genuinely match rather than merely coordinate.

Dimming depends on the globe

Fit a dimmable E14 and use a plug-in or inline dimmer and it dims; a plain globe will not. Our record carries no value against dimmable at all; the correct answer is globe dependent.
