Torben 240Cm Linear Pendant Light

The Torben PE240 is a 2.4-metre linear pendant — 46 W for 2,400 lm, three colour temperatures, TRIAC dimmable — in black or brown.

2,400 mm, which is exceptional

This is the longest pendant in the range by a wide margin. Most “linear” fittings stop at 1.2 or 1.8 metres; the Torben runs the length of a full dining table or a commercial counter in one piece, with no join and no gap. If you have been trying to cover a long run with two or three shorter pendants and hating the spacing, this is the answer.

Only 24 mm wide and 41 mm deep

A 2.4-metre fitting could easily be oppressive. This one is a line, not a beam — narrower than a finger. Off, it reads as a pencil stroke across the ceiling; on, it is a continuous strip of light.

The suspension adjusts from 800 to 1,700 mm

Nearly a metre of adjustment, which matters far more on a long fitting than a short one: over 2.4 metres, a small error in drop is visible along the whole length. An earlier version of this page quoted a single fixed figure.

Set expectations on brightness

2,400 lm spread over 2.4 metres is a gentle, even wash — about a thousand lumens per metre. It is beautiful over a dining table and it dims well. It is not task lighting for a workbench; if you need that over this length, tell us and we will point you elsewhere.

Colour temperature and dimming, both

3000/4000/5000 K selected on the fitting, plus TRIAC (leading-edge) dimming. Check compatibility with us if your dimmer is trailing-edge or smart.

There is a 1.6-metre version

Torben is made at 160 cm and 240 cm, both in black and brown sand finish. The brown is the unusual one — warmer than black, and it suits timber ceilings.
