The Torben PE160 is a 1,600 mm linear pendant in black or brown sand — integrated 28 W giving 2,240 lm, with switchable 3000 K / 4000 K / 5000 K, and it is TRIAC dimmable.
It dims, and nothing you could read said so. The datasheet records “Yes — TRIAC”. Our product record carried no dimming field at all, and the old specification table had no dimming row — not a wrong answer, an absent one.
That is the single best reason to choose the Torben. On an ordinary TRIAC wall dimmer, 2,240 lm over a dining table becomes bright for cooking and low for a long dinner. The Trina bar pendant in this catalogue cannot do that.
⚠ The suspension adjusts from 800 to 1,700 mm — and the page published only the 1,700. That is a 900 mm range reduced to a single number, and it matters: 800 mm is a normal drop over a dining table on a 2.4-metre ceiling, while 1,700 mm is a stairwell or a raked ceiling. The fitting covers both. The page made it look like it only did one.
That proportion is the product: 1.6 metres of light, 24 mm across, 41 deep. From below it is a line; from the side it almost disappears.
Over a long dining table or a kitchen island that is exactly right — a linear fitting matches the shape of what it lights, where a round pendant leaves the ends of a long table dim and needs two or three of itself to fix it. At 3.6 kg over 1.6 metres, it is also light for its size.
Set the table out first. A 1,600 mm fitting wants a table of at least that length to look right, and it must be hung parallel and centred — on a line this long, a few degrees of rotation is visible from across the room.
80 lm/W, which is efficient, and enough to be the only light over a table. The colour is selectable at installation — 3000 K warm, 4000 K neutral, 5000 K cool.
Over a dining table choose 3000 K. Over a kitchen island where you work, 4000 K renders food and chopping boards better. 5000 K belongs in a workshop, not a home.
⚠ Choose it before the electrician leaves. Our record flags the Torben as colour changing, and that overstates it: the setting is made once, at the fitting. What is adjustable afterwards is the brightness, on your dimmer.
1,600 mm and 2,400 mm, in black or brown sand. The sand finish is a fine texture rather than a gloss, which on a fitting this slim is the right call — gloss on a 24 mm edge catches every downlight in the room as a hard highlight, and a textured coat does not.
240 V — a figure our record and the old page both omitted — Class I, earth required, and IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. In aluminium, iron and acrylic, with an acrylic diffuser that spreads the LED strip into a continuous line rather than a row of visible dots. CRI above 80.
1,600 mm long, 24 mm wide, 41 mm deep, canopy 55 mm, suspension adjustable 800–1,700 mm, 3.6 kg, in aluminium, iron and acrylic, black or brown sand. Integrated 28 W LED giving 2,240 lm, included, with 3000 K / 4000 K / 5000 K set at installation, CRI >80, and TRIAC dimming on an ordinary wall dimmer. 240 V, Class I — earth required, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.

Yes — TRIAC, on an ordinary wall dimmer, and nothing you could read said so. The datasheet records it; our product record carried no dimming field at all and the old table had no dimming row. It is the single best reason to choose the Torben over the Trina bar pendant, which cannot dim.
The suspension adjusts from 800 to 1,700 mm — a 900 mm range that the old page reduced to just its maximum. 800 mm is a normal drop over a dining table on a 2.4-metre ceiling; 1,700 mm suits a stairwell or a raked ceiling.
It matches the shape of what it lights. Over a long table or island, 1.6 metres of continuous light covers the whole surface evenly, where a round pendant leaves the ends dim and needs two or three of itself to fix it.
3000 K over a dining table; 4000 K over a kitchen island where you work, because it renders food and boards better; 5000 K belongs in a workshop, not a home. Choose before the electrician leaves — the setting is made once at the fitting. The brightness stays adjustable on your dimmer.
Yes over a table — 2,240 lumens at 80 lm/W, which is efficient for a decorative fitting.
Hang it parallel to the table and centred. On a 1.6-metre line a few degrees of rotation is visible from across the room, in a way it never is on a round pendant.
1,600 mm and 2,400 mm, in black or brown sand. The sand texture is the right call on a fitting this slim — gloss on a 24 mm edge catches every downlight in the room as a hard highlight.
