A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
An inground light spends its life in the one place a fitting is least happy — a hole in the ground that fills with water. The 3 W Toldo is the smallest of the three, dropping into a Ø98 mm hole, and it is the one to reach for where a full-size uplight would be too much: a single shrub, a rendered column, a step riser you want grazed rather than flooded, a house number lit from below.
Havit's installation instructions put it in writing — adequate drainage must be allowed to prevent fittings from sitting in water for a long period of time, and if no drainage is allowed the warranty will be voided. The drawing beside it asks for a 100 mm space beneath the canister, 100 mm to 150 mm of crushed rock under that, and a slight decline on the finished ground so surface water runs away from the fitting rather than into it. The canister must also finish level with the ground; Havit voids the warranty if it does not. IP67 means the fitting survives temporary immersion. It is not a licence to leave it standing in a puddle.
The light source is a built-in LED — there is no globe and no socket, so nothing here is user-replaceable. Havit publishes its output as 270 lm at 3000K, 285 lm at 4000K and 300 lm at 5500K in a 30° beam. Note the direction of that: output climbs with colour temperature on this model, so 5500K is the brightest setting rather than the middle one, and the warm setting is the dimmest. Colour is chosen on a switch under a cap on the base of the fitting and leaves the factory set to 3000K. The head tilts through 20°, reached by removing the four nuts on the back, lifting the cover and glass and easing the head over — enough to lean a beam off vertical onto a trunk or a wall face, and the narrowest adjustment of the three Toldos.
This is a 12 V DC fitting and it must be run from a suitable 12 V DC LED driver. Do not connect it directly to 240 V. Havit requires the voltage arriving at the fitting to be within ±5% or the warranty is void, so size the driver and the cable run for that and check the input voltage of every other fitting before you share a driver with it. Multiple fittings must be wired in parallel, and the fitting is polarity sensitive — connect it the wrong way round and it fails, and that failure is not covered. The anti-syphon valve and the male and female connector supplied on the 300 mm tail must both remain in place for the warranty to stand.
The cover is 316 stainless steel over an aluminium body finished black. Havit asks for regular cleaning on all 316 stainless fittings to stop tea staining forming, and states that tea staining is not covered by warranty; its HV9971 stainless steel maintenance kit is what it recommends for the job. Lights For You lists this Toldo with Havit's 3 Years Replacement warranty on items ordered after 01/01/2022, and every figure above is read from the HV1827T data sheet and the HV1827T / HV1828T / HV1829T installation instructions.
Havit's HV1827T data sheet gives the cutout as Ø104 mm with the canister and Ø98 mm without it. Cut to the canister you have actually been supplied and set it level with the finished ground — the installation sheet asks you to take the hole from the line drawings supplied with the fitting, and warns that a canister not level with the ground voids the warranty.
Only if they are also 12 V DC and the driver has the capacity. Havit requires the supply at each fitting to be within ±5% of its rated voltage, and treats a supply outside that as a warranty exclusion. Check the input voltage printed on every fitting on the run before you join them — sharing a driver across mismatched supplies is the most common way a garden run ends up under-performing.
No. Havit lists Dimmable: No on both the HV1827T data sheet and the installation instructions, and the LED is built in, so there is no globe change that would alter it.
Havit rates the Toldo trafficable to 1000 kg, which covers foot traffic, garden equipment and a domestic car rolling across it. It is not a rating for a truck, a loaded trailer or repeated turning loads, and it assumes the canister is properly bedded and level.
There is a cap on the bottom of the fitting. Remove it, slide the switch to 3000K, 4000K or 5500K, and refit the cap tightly. It ships on 3000K. Do this before the fitting goes into the canister if you can — the switch is on the underside, and reaching it later means lifting the fitting out.
IK10 is the impact rating, and it is the highest in the common scale — it describes resistance to a mechanical blow rather than to water. On a fitting set into a lawn or a path, that is the rating that matters when a mower, a wheelbarrow or a boot finds it.
No. The fitting is supplied with a 300 mm tail, an anti-syphon valve and a male and female connector, and you supply the 12 V DC LED driver separately, sized for the total load of everything on the run.
