The Thalia OY50 is a 500 mm round oyster with a teak wood finish — 36 W giving 2,790 lm, with switchable 3000 K / 4000 K / 6000 K and three-step dimming from the wall switch you already have.
The Thalia and the Lyric are the same light in two shapes. Every electrical figure matches across all three sizes — 12/24/36 W, 620/1,575/2,790 lm, the same three colour temperatures, the same three-step dimming, the same CRI, IP and 60 mm projection.
The Thalia is round. The Lyric is square. That is the choice, and the weights differ — 2.2 kg here against the square Lyric's 2.7 — which is what tells you these are genuinely two fittings on one LED platform, not one specification copied twice.
So choose on shape: a round fitting sits happily anywhere and forgives being a few degrees off centre; a square one aligns with the room and shows any misalignment. The light will be identical.
Three times the power of the smallest for four and a half times the light. The Thalia and Lyric are the only size ranges reviewed in this programme that get meaningfully more efficient as they get bigger — against the Tifton pendants, which double their wattage for 19% more light, and the Patino, Privas and Ivalo, which give identical output at every size.
If you need output, the 500 mm is not just the brightest Thalia — it is the cheapest to run per lumen.
No dimmer, no new wiring. Flick the switch off and straight back on and the light steps down: 100%, 50%, 20%, then back to full.
At 2,790 lm that matters. This is a bright fitting — enough to light a living room or a large bedroom on its own — and the 20% step is what makes it usable in the evening. Getting that from the existing switch, on existing wiring, is unusual and it is the best reason to choose a Thalia over a plain oyster.
3000 K, 4000 K, 6000 K, set on a slide switch at installation. Most switchable fittings here stop at 4000 K; 6000 K is true daylight. Combined with the step dimming, one fitting gives a bright daylight working setting and a 20% warm evening one.
⚠ Choose the colour before the electrician leaves. Our record flags the Thalia as colour changing, which overstates it — the setting is made once, at the fitting, at installation, and is fixed after that. It is not changed from a switch, an app or a remote. Decide the room's colour on the day.
At 2.2 kg and only 60 mm from the ceiling, this is a large disc that stays flat rather than a bowl that hangs into the room. The teak wood tone is the point: at 500 mm across, a warm timber circle is a deliberate architectural gesture where a white disc of the same size is just a large white disc.
That is what the copy means by Japandi, Scandinavian and Bohemian — all three built on warm natural materials in simple geometry.
IP20 — indoor and dry locations only, and Class I — earth required. So not a bathroom; the square Lunos oysters are IP44 if you need one that can. In wood, polycarbonate and metal — the metal was missing from our record. CRI above 80.
500 mm across, projection 60 mm, 2.2 kg, in wood, polycarbonate and metal, teak wood tones. Integrated 36 W LED giving 2,790 lm, included, with slide-switch 3000 K / 4000 K / 6000 K set at installation, CRI >80, and three-step dimming from an ordinary wall switch — 100% / 50% / 20%, no dimmer required. 240 V, Class I — earth required, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.

The Thalia is round and the Lyric is square. Every electrical figure is identical across all three sizes — wattage, lumens, colour temperatures, dimming, CRI, IP, projection — and the weights differ slightly, which tells you these are two fittings on one LED platform rather than one specification copied twice. Choose on shape; the light will be identical.
This one. The three give 52, 66 and 77.5 lm/W — three times the power of the smallest for four and a half times the light. The Thalia and Lyric are the only ranges reviewed here that get meaningfully more efficient as they get bigger; most give the same output at every size.
No. Flick your ordinary wall switch off and straight back on and it steps down: 100%, 50%, 20%, then back to full. At 2,790 lm that matters — the 20% step is what makes a fitting this bright usable in the evening, and you get it on existing wiring.
No. Our record flags it as colour changing, which overstates it — the 3000/4000/6000 K setting is made once, at the fitting, at installation, and is fixed afterwards. It is not changed from a switch, an app or a remote. Decide on the day.
A round fitting sits happily anywhere and forgives being a few degrees off centre. A square one aligns with the room, following a ceiling line, bulkhead or run of joinery — and shows any misalignment. That is the whole difference between the Thalia and the Lyric.
