Product Description
xThe Tequo TL is a 400 mm table lamp with a smoked glass dome on a slim black frame — integrated 12 W giving 335 lm at 3000 K, and it is dimmed by touching the lamp.
You dim it by touching it — and that fact was filed in the cable-length field. The datasheet's dimension cell for cable length literally reads “Touch Dimming +180”. So the feature was recorded in a measurement field, and nothing downstream picked it up: the old page said only “Dimmable: Yes” and never told you how.
It matters, because it means no dimmer, no wiring, nothing to buy. A plug-in lamp cannot use a wall dimmer — the dimmer is in the lamp, in your hand.
It plugs into a power point. Our page said it “must be installed by a licensed electrician”. It has 1.8 metres of flex and runs at Class III low voltage — under 54 V. Removed.
The smoked glass dome — and what it costs you
A mid-century, space-age shape: a heavy smoked dome on a fine black frame, which is a genuinely good-looking piece of design.
Smoke glass absorbs light, and the figures show exactly how much:

The Tequo uses twice the power for two-thirds the light. That is not a fault — it is what you are buying. The smoke is doing the work: it turns a bright LED into a soft amber pool with no visible source and no glare, which is precisely the atmospheric quality the shape is for.
Buy it as a mood light. On a sideboard, a hall table or a bedside it is excellent. It is not a reading lamp, and if you want one, ask us — the Tarell gives more light on a quarter of the power.
Touch dimming is the right control for this lamp
Because the Tequo is an atmosphere lamp, the level matters more than on a task light — and touching it is a better control than reaching behind for a switch. Low, the smoked dome becomes a faint glow; at full it is a soft amber pool.
400 mm tall, 1.6 kg
240 mm wide with a 170 mm base and a 125 mm shade height. At 1.6 kg on a 170 mm base it is well planted for its height — better proportioned than several taller lamps in this catalogue, which matters on a lamp you are meant to touch.
The LED is integrated and included, fixed at 3000 K — nothing to buy, nothing to replace. CRI above 80, in iron and glass, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only.

Questions
How do I dim it?

Is it stable?
Yes — 1.6 kg on a 170 mm base at 400 mm tall, better proportioned than several taller lamps in this catalogue. That matters on a lamp you are meant to touch.
Can I change the globe or the colour?
Neither — the LED is integrated and included, fixed at 3000 K warm white.
What is the style?

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.
Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.
Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.
Damaged or Missing Items
Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.
If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.
Returns
Change of Mind Returns
- Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
- The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.
