✅ The Ø90–100 mm cutout — the reason to choose it for a retrofit

Most downlights specify a single cutout. This one accepts anything from 90 to 100 mm, and that 10 mm of tolerance is worth more than it sounds:

• Replacing old halogen downlights means inheriting whatever hole the last electrician cut — often 90 mm, sometimes 100, sometimes ragged.
• A fitting with a single specified cutout means patching and re-cutting ceilings. This one usually just goes in.
• At 35 mm deep it also fits where the old fitting's void was shallow.

✅ Together, that makes it the straightforward halogen-replacement downlight in this range.

The numbers, honestly

• 800 lm at 3000 K, 900 lm at 4000 K, 850 lm at 5700 K — comparable to a 50 W halogen, at 8 W.
• 113 lm/W — efficient.
• CRI ≥80, 60° beam, SMD, clear lens.
• ⚠ 35,000 hours, where most Domus downlights claim 50,000. The datasheet is candid that this range “incorporates cost-saving materials”, and this is where that shows. At typical domestic use that is still well over twenty years — but on a commercial installation running long hours it is a real difference.

IP44 and IK05 — two ratings, and one is unusual to see

• IP44 — splashing water from any direction, so it is usable in a bathroom outside the shower zone, subject to your electrician and AS/NZS 3000.
• ✅ IK05 — an impact rating, rarely quoted on a domestic downlight at all. IK05 represents a 0.7 joule impact. It is not high — the EXIT-WPBOX in this catalogue is IK10, at 20 joules — but on a flat-fascia downlight it means the lens will survive ordinary knocks during installation and cleaning.

The flat fascia

The SWAP-SLEEK is the flat-faced member of the SWAP family: the lens sits close to flush with the ceiling.

• ✅ Nearly invisible when off — a black ring on a white ceiling, or nothing at all in a dark one.
• ⚠ A flat fascia is a brighter-looking fitting than a deep-set one. The source is closer to the surface, so there is more glare at a shallow viewing angle than from the DECO or the DEEP. In a bedroom or a room you lie down in, the deep-set fittings are more comfortable.

Where it works

• Replacing old halogen downlights — the forgiving cutout is the reason.
• Shallow ceilings — 35 mm deep.
• Bathrooms outside the shower zone — IP44.
• ⚠ More glare than a deep-set fitting — think twice for bedrooms.
