Spitze LED Garden Spike Light 3w in Black Havit Lighting - HV1428T

Spitze is a compact adjustable garden spike spotlight — ø60 mm and 94 mm long in black powder-coated aluminium, on a 162 mm spike, with a tight 36° beam. That narrow beam is the point of it. Where a 90° spike light floods a whole bed, Spitze throws a defined column of light up a trunk or across a single feature, which is what makes an uplit tree read as deliberate rather than as a lit garden.

The choice to make: a narrow beam is for one object

A 36° beam wants a target. Aimed at a palm trunk, a tree fern or a piece of sculpture it is excellent; aimed at a wide hedge it lights a stripe and leaves the rest dark. Decide what each fitting is for before you buy the count — one per tree, not one per metre. The head gives 90° tilt, so the aim can be adjusted after the fitting is in the ground and again as the planting grows.

Where it works

• Uplighting single trees and palms in a front garden, one fitting per trunk, close in so the beam climbs the full height.
• Feature planting and garden sculpture, where a defined column of light picks out one form against a dark background.
• Rendered wall and pier details at an entry, grazing a narrow band rather than washing the whole wall.
• Established beds and mulched borders, spiked in and re-aimed as the planting fills out.

Specifying it

Spitze is 12 V DC and requires a 12 V DC LED driver. It must never be connected directly to 240 V — that destroys it instantly and is excluded from the warranty. Each fitting must sit within 25 m of its driver; beyond that the warranty does not apply, because voltage drop over a long garden run shows up as fittings dimming unevenly down the line.

The LED is built in — no globe is needed and none can be fitted. Rated IP65, which covers direct rain, sprinkler spray and the ground moisture a spike lives in. Tri-colour selectable at install across 3000K, 4000K and 5500K, with output in the 275–320 lm range depending on the temperature selected; the variant table carries the per-SKU figure. Clear glass, IK06 impact rated, on a 2000 mm reinforced cable. Not dimmable — put it on a switched circuit. Installation by a licensed electrician.

Supplied and supported by Lights For You; there is an RGBCW Spitze in the same body if you want colour later, but it runs at 24 V — ask us before you size the driver so you do not have to change it.
