The Sova DL70 is a 70 mm recessed LED downlight in dark grey or white — 6 W giving 630 lm at 3000 K, CRI above 90, TRIAC dimmable, 65 mm cutout.
The warranty is FIVE years, not three. Our page said three; the Telbix datasheet says five, matching both other Sova downlights. Five is what applies, including if you bought one on the old page.
65 mm cutout, 70 mm face, 63 mm deep. That depth is the useful number: at 63 mm it fits shallow ceiling voids where a deeper fitting will not go — a first-floor ceiling under a low roof, a bulkhead, a soffit. The 93 mm Sova needs 87 mm.
630 lm from 6 W. Those two figures usually trade against each other — high-CRI LEDs give up efficiency — and the Sova gets both. It also means the whole Sova family runs at exactly the same efficiency, so you can mix the 70 mm and 93 mm through one house with no visible change in colour or quality, only in output.
A note on our own error, since it started here. The 93 mm Sova’s page said 6 W beside 1,050 lm — which would be 175 lm/W and is impossible. 6 W is this product’s figure, and it had been copied across. The 93 mm draws 10 W; the 70 mm draws 6 W. Both pages are now correct.
Our record said simply IP44. The datasheet is more precise: IP44 (room side) — the visible face is protected against splashing water, so it is suitable for a bathroom ceiling outside the shower zone, while the back of the fitting in the ceiling void is not weather-rated. That is the normal and correct arrangement for a recessed bathroom downlight, and the wording matters to your electrician.
Most general downlights spread 60 degrees or more. At 36° the Sova gives a tighter, lower-glare pool — very good over a bench, a basin or artwork, and it needs closer spacing than you might expect as a general room light. Say so to your electrician before they set out.
TRIAC is the ordinary leading-edge wall dimmer — no controller, no app. IC-4 means it may be covered by ceiling insulation, which on a recessed fitting is the rating that matters. Surge protection is built in, and the drive current is 240 mA.
⚠ It is Class III — low voltage — so it runs on a driver. Normally supplied with a downlight, but no source we hold confirms it. Ask us before you order a run.
70 mm face, 65 mm cutout, 63 mm depth, 0.3 kg, tail 950 mm, in satin aluminium. Integrated 6 W COB LED giving 630 lm at 3000 K, included, CRI >90, 36° beam, 240 mA, TRIAC dimmable, surge protection, IC-4. 240 V, Class III — low voltage; driver required, not confirmed as supplied, IP44 from the room side. Warranty is five years, as a replacement warranty.

Five. Our page said three; the datasheet says five, matching both other Sova downlights. Five is what applies, including if you bought one on the old page.
63 mm — which is the reason to choose it. It fits shallow voids where a deeper fitting will not go, such as a first-floor ceiling under a low roof, a bulkhead or a soffit. The 93 mm Sova needs 87 mm.
Yes — 6 W and 630 lm, which is 105 lm/W. Worth saying because the 93 mm Sova’s page carried “6 W” beside 1,050 lm, which is impossible: that figure had been copied across from here. The 93 mm draws 10 W.
On a bathroom ceiling outside the shower zone, yes. The datasheet says IP44 room side — the visible face is splash-protected while the back of the fitting in the void is not weather-rated, which is the normal arrangement for a recessed bathroom downlight.
36 degrees, which is narrow — most general downlights spread 60 or more. It gives a tighter, lower-glare pool, so space them closer than you would a wide downlight.
Yes — the whole family runs at exactly the same efficiency, colour and CRI, so mixing the two sizes through one house changes only the output, not the look.
It is Class III, low voltage, so it runs on one. On a downlight a driver is normally supplied, but no source we hold confirms it — ask us before you order a run.
