Product Description
xThe Snap is an 80 mm square recessed step light — 3 W, 240 lm at 4000 K — in black or white, and it needs no driver.
240 V direct — no driver required
This is the practical advantage. Most recessed LED step lights need a driver housed somewhere in the wall cavity; the Snap runs straight off 240 V. That means less to fit into the cavity, one less component to fail, and a simpler install — particularly in a solid or shallow wall where there is nowhere to put a driver.
Only 4 mm proud of the wall
A 4 mm projection is essentially flush. On a stair riser at foot level, a fitting that barely stands proud is far less likely to be scuffed or caught.
Square, and small
80 × 80 mm with a 45 mm depth. Square suits a stair with orthogonal detailing; the shallow depth means it fits cavities that a deeper fitting will not.
4000 K is neutral, not cool
Worth being precise, because the old copy was not. 4000 K is natural or neutral white — clean without the blue edge of 5000 K. On a stair it reads as clear rather than clinical.
Clear polycarbonate diffuser
Not glass, so it will not shatter if knocked at foot level.
IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. An internal stair light, not rated for an external step.
Where it works
- Internal stair risers, especially in shallow or solid walls.
- Hallways, as low-level guidance.
- Cinema rooms and stepped floors.
- Where there is nowhere to house a driver.

Questions
Does it need a driver?
No — it runs straight off 240 V. That means less to fit into the wall cavity, one less component to fail, and a simpler install.
Is 4000 K cool white?
No. 4000 K is neutral or natural white; cool white is 5000 K. An earlier version of this page had that wrong.
How far does it stick out?
4 mm — essentially flush, so it is unlikely to be scuffed or caught at foot level.
How deep a cavity does it need?
45 mm — shallow, and with no driver to house it fits where deeper fittings will not.
Can it go on an outdoor step?
No. It is IP20 — internal stairs only.
Is the diffuser glass?
No, clear polycarbonate — it will not shatter if knocked.
What is the warranty?
Three years, as a replacement warranty.

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.
Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.
Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.
Damaged or Missing Items
Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.
If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.
Returns
Change of Mind Returns
- Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
- The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Credits will be issued in the form of store credit or gift voucher and will be equal to the price paid for the product minus the cost of shipping. Store credit vouchers are valid for six months from the date of issuance.
Our Rights
We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.
Cancellations
Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
