Slim White Dimmable 200mm Surface Mounted Slim Oyster Light

The Slim is the flattest ceiling light Havit makes: a polycarbonate disc 26 mm deep whose whole face lights up, so it reads as part of the ceiling rather than as a fitting hanging off it. This is the smallest of the four sizes, and its data sheet measures the body at Ø210 mm — the listing name rounds that to 200 mm, so allow the full 210 mm when you are working to a tight ceiling detail.

What a 16 W oyster will light

It puts out 1,400–1,500 lm, which is the right amount for a hallway, a laundry, a walk-in robe, a small bathroom or a stair landing — rooms where you want the ceiling clear and the light even rather than dramatic. For a bedroom or a living room the 24 W and 30 W bodies in the same range are the better match; they are the same 26 mm depth, so going bigger costs width and nothing in ceiling presence.

Colour temperature, and which setting is actually brightest

A slide switch in the base selects 3000K, 4000K or 5500K and is set once at installation. Output is not a ladder: 4000K is the brightest at 1,500 lm, 5500K gives 1,450 lm and 3000K gives 1,400 lm. If you want the most light out of the fitting, choose the middle setting rather than the coolest one.

Colour quality

Havit rates this model at CRI >90 with SDCM <3 and UGR <25. CRI >90 matters in a bathroom or a robe, where you are judging skin tone and the colour of clothes; SDCM <3 means two of these installed side by side in a hallway will look like the same white, which is the fault people notice long before they notice a lumen difference.

Where the IP54 rating applies — and where it does not

It is IP54 and IK06, and Havit attaches one condition to that in writing: if it is installed on any surface other than a ceiling — a wall, for instance — the rating drops to IP20. So it is a ceiling fitting for a bathroom or laundry, and it is not a wall fitting for a wet area at all.

Installation

Surface mounted, so there is no cutout. The base plate is Ø164 mm with two fixing holes, and the body twists onto it. It runs on 240 V AC with no separate driver, and is Protection Class 2, so no earth is required at the fitting. The supplied male and female connector must not be removed. It is Triac dimmable, with Havit's HV9625 listed as the matched dimmer, and carries a 3 years replacement warranty.
