SKY 40 ROUND OYSTER

The Sky OY40 is a ø400 mm ultra-thin flush oyster — 32 W producing 3,500 lm, three colour temperatures on a hidden selector, TRIAC dimmable, IP44 — in black or white.

The size most rooms actually want

Sky runs from ø230 mm to ø600 mm, and the 400 sits in the middle for a reason. At 3,500 lm it will carry a standard bedroom, a kitchen or a living room on its own, and at 400 mm it does that without dominating an ordinary ceiling the way the 600 can.

Ultra-thin, which is why it exists

It sits almost flat against the ceiling. In a room with a bulkhead, a low ceiling or an attic slope — where a pendant is impossible and a standard oyster drops 80–100 mm — this gives you the full output anyway.

Bright and dimmable together

That combination is what makes a single ceiling fitting workable in a room you live in. A 3,500 lm light that cannot dim is on or off; TRIAC dimming lets you run it full for cleaning and low for the evening. Check compatibility with us if your dimmer is trailing-edge or smart.

The selector switch is hidden

3000/4000/5000 K on a concealed selector, so the installed fitting is a clean disc with nothing on it. Set once at installation. CRI >85 and a 120° beam that reaches the walls rather than pooling underneath.

IP44 — bathrooms yes, outdoors no

Splash protected, so it belongs on a bathroom or laundry ceiling where most oysters do not. It is not an outdoor fitting, whatever our record says — IP44 is a wet-room rating, not a weather one.

Double insulated, no assembly

Class II — no earth required, and mounting screws and instructions are in the box.

• Bathrooms and laundries — IP44.
• ⚠ Indoors only, despite the old record.
