Sisby LED Floor Lamp

The Sisby FL is a 1,420 mm LED floor lamp on a marble base — brass matt on white marble or antique brass on black marble — 14 W giving 575 lm at 3000 K, dimmable from a switch on the lamp.

Dimmable from a switch on the lamp itself

This is the practical reason to choose it. Most floor lamps in this range take an ordinary globe and dim only if you buy a dimmable globe and an inline dimmer and hope the pair get along. The Sisby's dimming is built in and switch-operated — nothing to buy, nothing to match, no flicker to troubleshoot. Beside a reading chair that is worth a great deal.

Real marble — and unusually, our record says so

The base is marble: white under the brass matt version, black under the antique brass. Marble is quarried stone with veining that runs through the piece, so no two bases are the same — and at floor level, where the base sits beside a chair and gets looked at from a metre away, that is visible in a way a stone-look finish is not.

1.42 metres tall on a 150 mm base

1,420 mm high, 350 mm across at the head, on a 150 mm base. That is a deliberately small footprint — it slips beside a sofa arm or a chair without taking floor space, and the marble is what makes it work: stone is heavy enough to hold a 1.4-metre lamp upright on a 150 mm base, where a metal base that size would not.

575 lumens — a reading lamp, correctly

14 W, at 41 lumens per watt, which is modest — decorative fittings that shape and shield their light always are. The output is right for reading and for a warm corner and is not a room light. Combined with the dimmer, it does what a floor lamp beside a chair is actually for.

Two colourways, and they are genuinely different

Brass matt on white marble is the lighter and quieter — it disappears into a pale room. Antique brass on black marble is darker and more object-like, and reads as a piece of furniture. Both are matte, so neither reflects the room back at you.
