This is a wall-mounted touch panel for LED strip lighting. It replaces a conventional switch plate with a glass surface, so the lighting is set from the wall rather than from a remote that has to be found first.
⚠ It is a control, not a power supply. The strip it controls still needs its own driver.
This unit is built for Single colour lighting.
⚠ The channel type has to match the strip. A Single colour control on a strip with a different channel layout will drive the wrong channels or leave some of them dead.
It connects to 240V mains.
The face measures 75mm by 120mm.
It is made from plastic + glass.
⚠ At IP20 this unit has no weather protection. It must be installed in a permanently dry indoor location.
A wall panel puts the control where a switch would be, which is its main advantage over a remote: it cannot be lost, and a visitor can find it without being told where to look.
Position matters more than with any other control. It wants to be by the door people actually come in through, at switch height, and not behind a door that swings over it - decisions that have to be made before the walls are lined rather than after.
⚠ A glass panel shows fingerprints and reflects whatever is opposite it. Facing it away from a bright window keeps it readable.
This unit connects to mains and must be installed by a licensed electrician. It fits a standard wall position, so in most cases it takes the place of an existing switch rather than needing new wiring.
⚠ Check the depth of the existing wall box before ordering. A smart switch carries electronics behind its face and needs more room than the mechanical switch it replaces - that is the most common reason one will not fit.
Decide where it goes before the walls are finished. A control wants to be where people reach for it - by the door they come in through, not the one the wiring happened to arrive at.
No. It is a control unit. The lighting still needs whatever supply it normally uses - for LED strip, that means a driver.
It is built for Single colour lighting. If your strip has a different channel layout the colours will not map correctly.
No. At IP20 it has no weather protection and must stay in a dry indoor location.
Yes. This unit connects to 240V mains, which is licensed electrical work in Australia.
