Sevia Ceramic Table Lamp

The Sevia TL is a 400 mm ceramic table lamp with an embossed body in a high-gloss chrome glaze and a black hardback drum shade — one E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied — on 1.8 metres of flex.

An embossed body under a mirror glaze — and the record listed no material at all

The base is ceramic, embossed with a raised texture, and then finished in a high-gloss chrome glaze. Our product record carried no material field whatsoever — not the ceramic, not the fabric.

The combination is the point, and it is unusual. Texture under a mirror finish behaves completely differently from either alone: a matte textured base shows its pattern as shadow, while a smooth chrome one shows only reflection. Embossed and glazed, the Sevia shows its pattern as distorted reflections that move as you move — the raised areas catching the room from different angles. Beside a bed, with a lamp on, that is genuinely alive rather than decorative.

The black shade is doing deliberate work

A hardback drum in black fabric over a chrome base is a hard contrast, and it is chosen. The dark shade contains the light — opaque, so output goes straight up and straight down and none of it spills sideways onto the glaze. That means the base stays dark and reflective rather than being washed out by its own lamp, which is what keeps the chrome reading as chrome once the light is on.

It also means the light is directional: a bright pool below for reading, a wash on the ceiling above, and very little in between.

400 mm tall, 240 mm across

Compact — it suits a bedside table, a shelf or a desk corner, and it is 70 mm shorter than the Misty, the other ceramic lamp in this range. Where the Misty is matte stone pattern in a chrome cup and reads natural, the Sevia is gloss and graphic. Same material, opposite intent.

The globe is hidden, so the choice is simple

One E27 to 25 W, not supplied. The shade is opaque, so the globe never shows — brightness and warmth are the only decisions, and a warm 2700 K suits the black and chrome.

One E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied; dimming is globe dependent and needs an inline or plug-in dimmer. 240 V, plug-in — no electrician required, Class II — double insulated, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.
