A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
The Scape PT3 is a 755 mm exterior post spike light in black or verde green — 24 V, integrated 3 W giving 180 lm at 3000 K, CRI above 90, IP65.
⚠ It runs on 24 volts and the driver is a separate purchase. This does not connect to mains power on its own. You need a 24 V driver, and unlike the Terin range this page does not name a compatible one.
One driver runs several fittings, which is exactly why low voltage is used for garden runs — one transformer, one circuit, many small lights, and no mains cable in a garden bed. But it must be bought, sized and located as part of the job. Tell us how many Scapes you are installing and we will size and supply the driver.
Our page never mentioned it. Most fittings in this catalogue record above 80; the Scape records above 90, from a COB source rather than the usual SMD.
In a garden that is a real difference, because foliage is the hardest thing to light well:
COB also puts the emitters in a single dense array rather than a scatter, so the beam is crisper with cleaner shadows — which is what you want when the light is picking out a plant rather than washing a wall.
The Scape marks and accents. It will not light a path to walk by, and it is not meant to: at 755 mm on a spike it stands above low planting and puts a small, high-quality pool onto a garden bed, a shrub, a low wall or a path edge.
Used in numbers, that restraint is correct. A run of four or six at 180 lumens reads as rhythm along a bed. The same run at 600 lumens each would glare from the house and flatten the planting — the commonest mistake in garden lighting is fittings that are too bright, not too dim.
Tell us the bed and we will work out how many.
⚠ The copy offers three colourways — “Rust, Verde Green and Black”. Only black and verde are stocked. If you want the rust (corten) finish, ask us — the Terin exterior range does carry a corten, and it shares the same 24 V driver, so the two can be mixed on one circuit.
Protection against water jets from any direction, which is what a spike light in a garden bed needs: it takes rain from every angle, sprinklers and the hose. Compare the Kenra bollard at IP44, which needs shelter, and the Provo wall light at IP43.
The spike is the practical advantage. There is no digging, no concrete and no fixed position — it pushes into a bed and can be moved as planting grows in, which over a few seasons matters more than it sounds. The 1-metre cable gives you room to reposition it without re-running anything.
⚠ A note on the height. The datasheet records a 500 mm fixture height where our record and the page both say 755 mm. The likeliest reading is that 500 mm is the lit body and 755 mm is the total including the spike — but we have not assumed it. Ask us if the above-ground height matters to your planting and we will measure one.
110 mm wide, 0.7 kg, in aluminium and polycarbonate, Class III — low voltage, under 54 V, and not dimmable.
755 mm overall by 110 mm wide (the datasheet records a 500 mm body — ask us), cable 1,000 mm, 0.7 kg, in aluminium and polycarbonate, black or verde green. Integrated 3 W COB LED giving 180 lm at 3000 K, included, CRI >90, not dimmable. 24 V — a DRIVER is required and is NOT supplied, Class III — low voltage, under 54 V, IP65 — fully exposed garden positions. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
Yes — a 24 V driver, which is not supplied, and unlike the Terin range this page does not name a compatible one. One driver runs several fittings, which is the point of low voltage in a garden: one transformer, one circuit, many small lights, and no mains cable in a garden bed. Tell us how many Scapes you are installing and we will size and supply it.
More than you would think, and our page never mentioned it. Foliage is the hardest thing to light well: under a low-CRI source leaves go grey-olive, which is the most common reason garden lighting looks cheap. Above 90, greens stay green, bark and stone keep their warmth, and flowering plants hold their colour — which is most of the point of lighting a bed.
For what it is meant to do, yes. The Scape marks and accents — it stands above low planting and puts a small, high-quality pool onto a bed, shrub, low wall or path edge. It will not light a path to walk by. A run of four or six at 180 lumens reads as rhythm; the same run at 600 each would glare from the house and flatten the planting.
Not as stocked — the copy offers Rust, Verde Green and Black, and only black and verde are available. Ask us: the Terin exterior range does carry a corten finish and shares the same 24 V driver, so the two can be mixed on one circuit.
