The Samona BF is a 205 mm batten fix ceiling light in antique gold with a textured glass shade — one B22 bayonet globe, not supplied, at 240 mm high and 1.15 kg.
⚠ No source records a maximum wattage for this fitting. Not the datasheet, not our product record, and the old specification table had no wattage row at all.
On a fitting where you supply the globe, that is the figure that matters: it is what tells you and your electrician how much lamp the fitting is built to carry. Ask us before you buy globes and we will confirm it with Telbix. As a working rule, a modern LED B22 of any sensible output draws well under any limit a fitting like this would have — but we are not going to publish a number nobody recorded.
Our page never said. A batten fix fitting mounts directly onto the ceiling, over the existing wiring point, with no suspension, no drop and no separate mounting plate. It is the simplest ceiling fitting there is.
The practical case for one:
The Samona takes that plainest of formats and gives it a textured glass shade in antique gold, which is the point: a batten fix that does not look like a utility fitting.
This is one of very few fittings in this catalogue that takes a bayonet globe. B22 (also called BC) is the push-and-twist base — two pins, a quarter turn — and it was the Australian standard for decades. Almost everything else here is E27, which screws in.
They are not interchangeable. If you have a drawer of spare E27 globes, none of them will fit this. Buy B22, and if in doubt send us a photo of what you have now — on an existing batten holder, the base you already have is very likely B22, which is exactly why this fitting uses it.
Choose warm 2700 K: against antique gold, cool white reads green. And because the glass is textured rather than opal, the globe is softened but partly visible — so use a compact globe, not a large decorative one that will show as a shadow.
It dims, with the right globe. Our record says “No”; the datasheet and the page both say globe dependent, and they are right — there is nothing in a batten fix holder but the holder. Fit a dimmable LED and use a wall dimmer.
The Samona's textured glass gives a warm, softly diffused glow with the source broken up rather than hidden or exposed — the modern-artisanal character the range is built on.
At 205 mm across and 240 mm high on a 120 mm canopy, it suits hallways, landings, entries, robes, laundries and small bedrooms — anywhere you would otherwise accept a plain oyster or a bare globe. In a living room it is a modest fitting; ask us about the Samona pendants for that.
The range is unusually complete. Samona is made as this batten fix, a wall light, and pendants in three, six and eight lights — all in the same textured glass and antique gold. So a hall can carry the batten fix, the dining room the eight-light, and both read as one decision. (Our page carried only the range copy, which describes “pendants and wall lights” — a list this product is not on.)
Class I — earth required, and IP20 — indoor and dry locations only, so not a bathroom and not a steamy laundry. In iron and glass. At 1.15 kg it fixes to a standard ceiling point without special provision.
205 mm across by 240 mm high, canopy 120 mm, 1.15 kg, in iron and textured glass, antique gold. One B22 (bayonet) globe, NOT supplied; maximum wattage is not recorded in any source — ask us; dimming is globe dependent. 240 V, Class I — earth required, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.

One that mounts directly onto the ceiling over the existing wiring point, with no suspension, no drop and no separate mounting plate — the simplest ceiling fitting there is. If you have a bare globe on a ceiling in a laundry, hallway, garage or robe, a batten fix is the direct upgrade with no rewiring.

A compact one, in warm 2700 K. The glass is textured rather than opal, so the globe is softened but partly visible — a large decorative globe will show through as a shadow. And against antique gold, cool white reads green.
A dry laundry, yes. A bathroom or a laundry that gets steam, no — it is IP20, indoor and dry locations only.
