The Rotif PE16 is a 160 mm pendant with a clear glass dome on an anodised brass frame — one E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied — on a 2,000 mm suspension.
Clear glass does not diffuse. The dome shapes and reflects, and what you actually see is the globe inside it, sharpened at the edges by the curve of the glass. That is deliberate — the Rotif is built around showing a beautiful globe under a clean brass and glass form.
So the globe is not a detail, it is half the purchase. One E27 to 25 W, not supplied, and it will be fully visible from every angle.
Tell us and we will match one.
A visible source at seated eye height across a table is uncomfortable to look at, and unlike a globe-fed fitting with a diffuser you cannot soften it by changing the shade — the shade is clear. So: over a bench, in a stairwell, at the end of a hallway, or in a run well above an island. Not low over a dining table.
Small, and that is how it should be used: a single Rotif is a detail, and two or three in a run is a composition. Over a dining table alone it will look undersized. The canopy is 100 mm with 2,000 mm of adjustable drop.
At 1.575 kg it is heavier than it looks for a 160 mm pendant — glass and solid metal rather than pressed sheet — which is worth mentioning to your electrician if several are going up on one ceiling.
Anodised is a finish grown into the metal rather than laid on top, so it is far harder to scratch or wear through than plating. On a pendant that gets cleaned, knocked and lived with, that is a real durability difference, and it is why the brass reads as even and slightly matte rather than mirror-bright — which is also what stops it competing with the lit globe.
Dimming depends on the globe. Our record says “No”; the datasheet says globe dependent, and the datasheet is right. With a fully visible filament globe, dimming is the single best thing you can do for how this fitting looks — a dimmed filament under clear glass is exactly the effect it is designed for. Ask us and we will match a dimmable pair to your dimmer.
Rotif comes as a floor lamp, a table lamp and this pendant, all in iron with a clear glass dome. That makes it unusually easy to carry one idea across a whole room at three heights.
160 mm wide by 250 mm high, canopy 100 mm, suspension 2,000 mm and adjustable, 1.575 kg, in glass and iron, anodised brass. One E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied and fully visible; dimming is globe dependent. 240 V, Class I — earth required, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
Completely, from every angle. Clear glass does not diffuse — the dome shapes and reflects, and what you see is the globe inside it, sharpened at the edges by the curve. The Rotif is built around showing a beautiful globe.
A decorative LED filament — a globe or ST64 shape — in a warm 2700 K to sit with the brass. A bare white LED capsule will look like an unfinished light fitting. Tell us and we will match one.
Above eye level. A visible source at seated eye height across a table is uncomfortable, and you cannot soften it by changing the shade because the shade is clear. Over a bench, in a stairwell, at the end of a hallway, or in a run well above an island.
With the right globe, yes — our record says “No” and the datasheet says globe dependent, which is right. With a fully visible filament, dimming is the single best thing you can do for how this fitting looks: a dimmed filament under clear glass is exactly the effect it is designed for.
