The Riven WB2 is a 110 mm twin wall light with ribbed glass shades — two E14 globes to 25 W each, not supplied, at 360 mm high and 140 mm deep.
⚠ This is an INDOOR fitting. Our own page said “Usage: Outdoor”, and that was wrong and worth being clear about.
The Riven is IP20, which means no protection against water at all — not rain, not spray, not splashing. Our record listed it as “Outdoor, Garden” and the specification table said “Outdoor”, while the very same paragraph called it an indoor wall light and the description recommended it for bedsides and mirrors.
Install it indoors only, and in dry rooms. Not outside, not on a covered porch, and not in a bathroom. If you want this look somewhere damp, ask us — there are IP44 wall lights in this catalogue that can go in a bathroom outside the shower zone.
The two shades are ribbed: vertical fluting moulded into the glass. That is a different thing from frosted or opal, and it does something specific.
That last point is why the globe choice matters, and no source mentioned it.
Two E14 to 25 W each — 50 W total, not supplied. E14 is the small screw base, SES.
It dims, with the right globes — and neither our record nor the old specification table mentioned dimming at all. The datasheet says globe dependent, which is right: nothing in a fitting holding two E14s prevents it. On ribbed glass, dimming is particularly good — low, the ribs become the only thing you see. Ask us and we will match a pair to your dimmer.
The two shades are stacked, not side by side, which makes the Riven a narrow vertical rather than the horizontal that most twin wall lights are — the Radam twin, for comparison, is 370 mm wide and 170 high.
At 110 mm across, that puts the Riven where a horizontal twin cannot go:
At 1.5 kg, projecting 140 mm, on a 100 mm backplate. ⚠ That backplate is smaller than the fitting, so on a replacement it may not cover what came off the wall — measure first.
Three finishes, and our own list of them was mangled. The old page read “Chrome|, Antique Gold|, Black| Smoke, Antique Gold| Clear” — with stray characters, and four names for three products, one of which is not made. The three are:
Class I — earth required, hard-wired, so a licensed electrician installs it. IP20 — dry indoor rooms only. In iron and glass.
110 mm wide by 360 mm high, projection 140 mm, backplate 100 mm, 1.5 kg, in iron and ribbed glass. Two E14 (SES) globes to 25 W each — 50 W total, NOT supplied; dimming is globe dependent. 240 V, Class I — earth required, IP20 — DRY INDOOR ROOMS ONLY. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
No. It is IP20 — no protection against water at all, not rain, not spray, not splashing. Our record listed it as “Outdoor, Garden” and the old specification table said “Outdoor”, in the same paragraph that called it an indoor wall light. Install it indoors, in dry rooms only.
No — IP20 rules that out too. If you want this look somewhere damp, ask us: there are IP44 wall lights in this catalogue that can go in a bathroom outside the shower zone.
Lit, each rib catches the light along its own length, so the shade reads as a column of bright vertical lines rather than one even glow — it has texture and movement, and it changes as you walk past. Unlit, the ribbing gives the glass presence in daylight, where a plain shade is just a plain shade when it is off.
Two E14 — the small screw base — to 25 W each, none supplied. Use a compact candle or golf-ball shape, because the ribbing only partly conceals the source and a large or oddly shaped globe shows through as a shadow. Warm 2700 K, and buy the two together: mismatched globes show along every rib.
With the right globes — and neither our record nor the old table mentioned dimming at all. The datasheet has it as globe dependent, which is right. On ribbed glass it is particularly worth doing: low, the ribs become the only thing you see.
Chrome with opal matt is cool and clean, and the metal recedes beside a mirror. Antique gold with opal matt is warm and traditional, sitting with brass hardware and timber. Black with smoke glass is the most graphic — but smoke absorbs light, so it is noticeably dimmer on the same globes. Our old page listed four finishes for three products, one of which is not made.
Vertical — the two shades are stacked, making it 110 mm wide and 360 mm tall, where most twin wall lights are horizontal (the Radam twin is 370 mm wide and 170 high). That is what suits it to flanking a mirror or sitting on a narrow strip beside a bed.
