Reese Rectangular Outdoor Wall Light

The Reese is a 285 mm rectangular outdoor wall light in die-cast aluminium with a flat black powder coat and frosted glass, rated IP44.

Mission-style, which means restraint

A straight rectangular frame with subtly curved lines — no scrolls, no lanterns, no ornament. That makes it one of the few exterior lights that suits a modern house without looking like a compromise, and it sits equally well on a period cottage.

Frosted glass, so no glare at the door

The diffuser is frosted, not clear. That matters at an entry: a clear-glass fitting at head height puts a bare globe in your eyes as you approach, while frosted glass gives you an even panel of light. It also means the globe choice is far less critical here than on a clear fitting.

Sized to pair

285 mm high by 145 mm wide is a modest, symmetrical size — made to be used in pairs, either side of a garage door or an entry, rather than as a single statement.

Die-cast aluminium, powder coated

Powder coat on die-cast aluminium is the standard exterior construction. It will last well under an eave or on a sheltered wall; in a coastal or fully exposed position, brass such as the Cantena or Perova is the better spend.

• Modern houses where a lantern would look wrong.
