Quilo Pendant Light

The Quilo pendant is a ø400 mm shade built from smoke glass rods, on an adjustable drop, in black.

Glass rods, not a glass shade

The shade is assembled from individual glass rods rather than blown or pressed as one piece. Lit, each rod carries light down its length and ends in a bright point, so the fitting reads as a ring of vertical highlights instead of a single glowing surface. That is an effect you cannot get from a moulded shade, and it is the whole reason to choose it.

Smoke, so the rods stay visible

Smoked glass transmits less and tints what passes through. On rods that is the right choice — you see the individual pieces and their edges rather than a wash of light that would blur them together.

ø400 mm is an island size

Big enough to hang alone over a small round table, and right for a run of two or three over an island. The shade is 260 mm deep, so allow for that under a standard ceiling.

Height adjustable

The drop is set at installation. Over a bench, hang the base roughly 750–900 mm above the surface — high enough to see across, low enough that the rods are at eye level where they read best.

The family goes further

Quilo is made as pendants in several configurations and a floor lamp, all with the same rod shade. A pendant over an island with the floor lamp in the adjoining room is a coherent scheme.

Specifying it

ø400 mm, 260 mm deep, canopy ø25 × 200 mm, height adjustable, in iron and smoke glass rods. One E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied; dimming is globe dependent. 240 V, Class I — earth required, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.
