The Provo EX is a 320 mm exterior wall light with a clear glass diffuser in black sand — one E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied — IP43.

IP43, not IP44 — and it is worth reading twice. IP44 is rated against splashing water from any direction. IP43 is rated only against spraying water up to 60° from vertical — water coming downward, not sideways.

So: under a porch roof, a verandah or a deep eave — yes; an exposed wall taking wind-driven rain from the side — no. Our own specification table says “Outdoor (Covered area)”, which is the right guidance and worth following.

Clear glass — which means the globe is part of the fitting

Clear glass does not diffuse. It reveals, so what you see through the Provo is the globe itself, framed by the aluminium.

That makes the globe choice the whole look, and no source said a word about it. One E27 to 25 W, not supplied:

  • A decorative LED filament — a globe or ST64 shape — is what a clear lantern is designed around. Beside a door, that reads as a lantern.
  • A bare white capsule will look like an unfinished light fitting, and at night it will be the only thing you see.
  • Use an LED rated for ENCLOSED fittings. The Provo is a sealed lantern, and heat with nowhere to go is what kills LED globes — many are rated for open fittings only, and it is printed on the box.
  • Choose warm 2700 K.

The globe is replaceable — which most exterior fittings here are not

Nearly every outdoor light in this range has a sealed integrated LED: when the diode fails, the fitting is finished. The Provo takes a standard E27, so you choose the colour and output and you can replace it in ten years — on a fitting that will sit beside a door for a decade, that is a real advantage.

320 mm tall and only 120 mm wide

A slim vertical, projecting 135 mm, at 0.89 kg. That is narrower and lighter than most exterior wall lights in this catalogue — the Cosca is 180 mm wide and 1.9 kg, the Vexor 168 mm and deeper still — so the Provo suits a narrow entry, a doorframe reveal or a run along a facade where a bulkier lantern would crowd.

It IS dimmable, with the right globe. Our page said “Dimmable: No”; the datasheet says globe dependent, and the datasheet is right — there is nothing in a fitting that simply holds an E27 to prevent it. Fit a dimmable LED and use a wall dimmer. On a clear lantern with a visible filament, dimming is the single best thing you can do for how it looks after dark.

Class I — earth required and hard-wired, so a licensed electrician installs it — correctly, on this page. The sand finish is right outdoors: gloss shows salt, dust and water marks and a textured coat does not.

Can I dim it?

What is IP43?

Rated against spraying water up to 60 degrees from vertical only — downward, not sideways — where IP44 covers splashing from any direction. Under a porch roof, verandah or deep eave, yes; an exposed wall taking wind-driven rain, no. Our own table says “Outdoor (Covered area)”, which is the right guidance.

What globe should I buy?

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
