The Privas PE38 is a 380 mm frosted glass pendant in antique gold — one E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied, on a 2,000 mm suspension.

Frosted glass — and why that decides where it can hang

The shade is frosted, not clear or tinted, and that has one consequence that matters more than any other: the globe is completely hidden and there is no glare from any angle.

So the Privas can hang low — over a kitchen island at eye level, above a dining table where people sit under it, beside a bed — without anyone squinting at it. The tinted and clear-glass pendants in this catalogue cannot: their sources are visible and they have to go above eye level.

It also makes the globe choice simple. Because nothing shows through, brightness and warmth are the only decisions — no decorative filament needed, and a warm 2700 K suits the antique gold. (Against antique gold, cool white reads green.)

380 by 420 mm — a single statement

Slightly taller than it is wide, on a 120 mm canopy with 2,000 mm of adjustable drop. At this size the Privas works as a single piece over a dining table or in an entry, where the 280 mm is better grouped in a run over an island — which, since both take the same globe, is also how you get more light.
