The Prada EX is a 510 mm exterior wall light with seeded glass in white sand — 10 W giving 450 lm at 3000 K, IP44.
Two corrections to what this page used to say.
Seeded glass has air bubbles deliberately trapped in it during manufacture. It is not a flaw and it is not frosting. What it does at night is specific: each bubble catches and scatters a point of light, so a 510 mm column of seeded glass reads as a tall band of soft sparkle rather than an evenly lit panel. Beside a door, that is what stops an exterior light looking like a plastic bulkhead.
It also means the fitting has presence when it is off. Seeded glass catches daylight in the same way, so it reads as glass rather than as a blank white face.
A half-metre vertical, 140 mm wide, projecting 84 mm. That proportion suits a wall beside a door, an entry, or a pair flanking a garage, and it is tall enough to read from the street.
⚠ At 2.85 kg it is heavy for a wall light — roughly ten times the small exterior fittings in this range. It needs a proper masonry or timber fixing, not a plug in render. Tell your electrician the weight before the position is chosen.
10 W for 450 lm is 45 lm/W, which is low, and the seeded glass is why: scattering light through bubbles costs output. The result is enough to mark a doorway and light the immediate area, and not enough to light a driveway. That is the correct behaviour for an entry fitting — you want to see the door, not be floodlit at it — but size the rest of the exterior lighting accordingly.
Protected against splashing water from any direction, which covers ordinary rain on an ordinary wall. It is a better rating than the IP43 fittings elsewhere in this range, which only cover water coming downward. It is not rated against jets, so do not hose it directly, and on a fully exposed coastal wall a higher-rated fitting is the safer choice.
On dimming. The datasheet says “globe dependent” — on a fitting with an integrated LED and no globe to change. That field was defaulted rather than answered. Treat it as not dimmable unless we confirm otherwise, and tell us if dimming matters and we will check with Telbix.
Aluminium with a sand-textured finish, which outdoors is the right choice: gloss shows salt, dust and water marks and a textured coat does not. Class I — earth required, hard-wired, and a licensed electrician installs it.
510 mm high by 140 mm wide, projection 84 mm, 2.85 kg, in aluminium and seeded glass, white sand. Integrated 10 W LED giving 450 lm at 3000 K, included, CRI >80, dimming not confirmed — treat as not dimmable. 240 V, Class I — earth required, IP44 — splashing from any direction; OUTDOOR use. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
Outdoor. Our specification table said “Usage: Indoor”, contradicting its own IP44 rating three lines above it. It is rated for outdoor use.
We stock white. The page offered “black or white” — ask us before ordering if black is what you want.
