The Pontus is a 655 mm cast stone table lamp with a soft fabric shade in beige — one E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied — on 1.8 metres of flex.
It plugs into a power point. Our page said it “must be installed by a licensed electrician”. It has 1.8 metres of flex and is Class II double insulated — unpack it, fit a globe, plug it in. Removed.
For scale: most table lamps here weigh under a kilogram. The Polano, on a travertine base, is 3.7 kg. The Fulvia, its closest cast-stone relative, is 4.3 kg. The Pontus is 6.7.
That is not a specification, it is how the lamp behaves. It does not move when the flex is pulled, does not tip when knocked, and will not be dragged off a console by a passing bag. On an entry console — which is exactly where the page suggests putting it — that is the difference between a lamp that survives ten years and one that does not.
It also means you will not be moving it casually. Decide where it goes.
Our product record listed “Fabric” alone — recording the shade and losing the lamp. It is the tenth cast-stone product in this catalogue whose record drops the stone.
Cast stone is heavy, faintly granular and reads as quarried rather than moulded. On a form this size — 400 mm wide, an organic rounded silhouette — it gives a solidity and matte earthiness that ceramic or painted metal cannot, and it is the whole reason to choose a Pontus over a cheaper lamp of the same shape.
Large. At 655 mm it stands well above a seated eye line, so the shade throws light down onto the surface and up onto the ceiling rather than into your face. At 400 mm wide it needs a console, a sideboard or a wide side table; on a bedside table it will overwhelm the furniture.
Its close relative is the Fulvia. Also cast stone with a beige fabric shade, also 400 mm wide — but 635 mm tall at 4.3 kg where the Pontus is 655 mm at 6.7 kg. Same idea, different silhouette and noticeably different mass. The Fulvia also has an inline switch on the cord, which the Pontus's sources do not record — ask us if switch position matters to you.
Opaque fabric, so light goes up and down, not sideways, and the globe is completely hidden. The choice is therefore brightness and warmth only — a warm 2700 K E27 suits the beige and the stone.
Dimming depends on the globe. Our record says “No”; the datasheet says globe dependent, and the datasheet is right. On a plug-in lamp that needs an inline or plug-in dimmer. Ask us and we will match the pair. It is IP20 — indoor and dry locations only.
655 mm high by 400 mm wide, flex 1,800 mm, 6.7 kg, in cast stone with a fabric shade, beige. One E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied; dimming is globe dependent and needs an inline or plug-in dimmer. 240 V, plug-in — no electrician required, Class II — double insulated, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
No. It has 1.8 metres of flex and is double insulated — unpack it, fit a globe, plug it in. Our page said otherwise, which was wrong.
6.7 kilograms — the heaviest table lamp in this catalogue. Most here are under a kilogram; the Polano is 3.7 and the Fulvia 4.3. It will not move when the flex is pulled or tip when knocked, which on an entry console is the difference between a lamp that survives ten years and one that does not. It also means you will not be moving it casually.

With a dimmable E27 and an inline or plug-in dimmer. Our record says “No”; the datasheet says globe dependent, and that is right.
No — the shade is opaque fabric, so light goes up and down rather than sideways. Brightness and warmth are the only decisions, and a warm 2700 K suits the beige and the stone.
