The Polano TLL is a 555 mm table lamp on a travertine and iron base with a 300 mm fabric shade — one E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied — in beige, on 1.8 metres of flex.
It plugs into a power point. Our page said it “must be installed by a licensed electrician”. It has 1.8 metres of flex and is Class II double insulated — unpack it, fit a globe, plug it in. Removed.
The base is travertine, a natural limestone, and it is the whole reason the Polano looks the way it does. Our product record listed “Iron” alone — losing both the stone and the fabric shade.
Travertine is not a stone finish or a stone-look moulding. It is quarried rock, formed by mineral springs, and it carries visible pores and banding that vary through the piece. So no two Polano bases are identical, and the base reads as geology — which is a very different thing from a ceramic glaze imitating it. It is the same material used on floors and vanity tops, at a scale you can pick up.
Stone is heavy, and on a table lamp that matters more than it sounds. At 3.7 kg the Polano does not move when the flex is pulled and does not tip when it is knocked — unlike the light metal and woven-fibre lamps elsewhere in this range, which weigh well under a kilogram. On a console in a hallway, or anywhere a bag or a sleeve goes past, that is the difference between a lamp that survives and one that does not.
The larger of two Polanos, and genuinely tall. The 300 mm shade, 220 mm deep, throws a wide pool of light from a source that sits well above a seated eye line — so it lights a room or a page rather than shining at you. On a console or a sideboard it has the presence to stand alone; on a small bedside table it would be too much, and the 405 mm version is the one to buy.
Fabric, so light goes up and down rather than sideways and the globe is completely hidden. That makes the globe choice simple — brightness and warmth only, no look to worry about. Use a warm 2700 K E27, which suits both the beige palette and the stone.
Dimming depends on the globe. Our record says “No”; both the datasheet and the on-page table say globe dependent, and they are right. On a plug-in lamp it needs an inline or plug-in dimmer with a dimmable E27 — there is no wall dimmer in the circuit. Ask us and we will match the pair.
555 mm high, shade 300 mm wide by 220 mm high, flex 1,800 mm, 3.7 kg, in travertine, iron and fabric, beige. One E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied; dimming is globe dependent and needs an inline or plug-in dimmer. 240 V, plug-in — no electrician required, Class II — double insulated, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
No. It has 1.8 metres of flex and is double insulated — unpack it, fit a globe, plug it in. Our page said it must be installed by a licensed electrician, which was wrong.

This one for a console or sideboard, where 555 mm and a 300 mm shade have the presence to stand alone. On a small bedside table it would be too much — buy the 405 mm version.
