Product Description
xThe Pod 110 G2 is a 110 mm recessed LED downlight in nickel — 10 W giving 890 lm at 3000 K, 120° beam, TRIAC dimmable, IP44, IC-4, into a 90 mm cutout.
Three things an installer needs, and none of them were on the page.
- The cutout is 90 mm. The specification table gave only the 110 mm fitting width. You cut a 90 mm hole, not a 110 mm one — and on a retrofit that difference decides whether it covers the hole left by whatever came out.
- It is IC-4 — rated to be covered by ceiling insulation and abutted by it. No clearance gap has to be maintained around it, and none can be closed up later by someone working in the roof. In Australia that is one of the two facts that matter about a recessed fitting.
- It is IP44 — protected against splashing water from any direction, so it can go in a bathroom outside the shower zone or a laundry. The page carried no IP rating at all and said only “Usage: Indoor”.
890 lumens on a 120-degree beam
10 W at 89 lm/W. The 120° beam is the number that changes how many you need: it is a wide wash, not a spot, so fewer fittings cover more of a room and the light between them is even rather than scalloped.
Compare the MDL-16D module in this catalogue at 38° — a tight, defined pool for a bench or a wall. The Pod is the opposite tool: for general room lighting in living areas, hallways and bedrooms, a 120° beam is what you want, and it means wider spacing on the grid.
⚠ This is a clearance item with a ONE-YEAR warranty. Not three. That is recorded consistently across the datasheet, our record and the page, so it is a genuine commercial term rather than a data error — but it is worth knowing before you buy a dozen of them for a whole house. If you want a downlight with the full three-year term, ask us.
CRI above 82 — and what it is and is not
Good enough that skin and timber do not go visibly flat, and not the 92 or 93 of the high-CRI downlights in this catalogue. For hallways, bedrooms and living areas — which is what the Pod is for — 82 is the right place to spend. Over a kitchen bench or a bathroom mirror, ask us about the CRI 92 fittings instead.
Our sources say 82 and 83; the difference is immaterial and we have published the lower.
Dimmable, and Class II
TRIAC dimming on an ordinary wall dimmer — and on a downlight grid that is worth having, because a room lit by several fittings at full is a room you cannot soften.
Class II — double insulated, no earth required, which simplifies the wiring on a multi-fitting circuit.
35 mm deep
The fitting body is only 35 mm above the ceiling line, which matters in a shallow void, under a bulkhead or in a concrete-slab ceiling with a furred-down plasterboard — positions where a deeper downlight simply will not fit.
Note the colour. This listing is 3000 K warm white. The Pod is also made in 5000 K; ask us if you want the cool version for a garage, laundry or workshop — and note that a house should not mix the two on the same circuit.

Questions
What size hole do I cut?
90 mm. The specification table gave only the 110 mm fitting width, which is the visible trim — you cut a 90 mm hole. On a retrofit that difference decides whether it covers what came out.
Can it be covered by ceiling insulation?
Yes — it is IC-4, rated to be covered and abutted. No clearance gap has to be maintained around it, and none can be closed up later by someone working in the roof. That was recorded and appeared nowhere on the page.
Can it go in a bathroom?
Outside the shower zone, yes — it is IP44, protected against splashing water from any direction. The page carried no IP rating at all and said only “Usage: Indoor”.
How far apart should I space them?
Further than you would space a narrow-beam downlight. The 120-degree beam is a wide wash, not a spot, so fewer fittings cover more of a room and the light between them is even rather than scalloped. Tell us your ceiling height and room size and we will work the spacing through.
What is the warranty?
One year — this is a clearance item, and that term is recorded consistently across the datasheet, our record and the page, so it is a genuine commercial condition rather than a data error. Is CRI 82 good enough?
For hallways, bedrooms and living areas, yes — skin and timber do not go visibly flat. Over a kitchen bench or bathroom mirror, ask us about the CRI 92 fittings in this range instead.
Does it come in cool white?
The Pod is made in 5000 K as well; this listing is 3000 K warm white. Ask us for the cool version for a garage, laundry or workshop — and do not mix the two on the same circuit.

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.
Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.
Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.
Damaged or Missing Items
Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.
If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.
Returns
Change of Mind Returns
- Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
- The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.
