A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
This is a plastic mounting channel to suit 20mm x 13mm IP68 Haviflex - 950mm Length strip.
⚠ It is a component on its own. There is no LED strip in it and no driver - it is one of the parts that holds, joins or terminates a strip run you already have.
A channel gives flexible strip a straight, fixed line to sit in. Left to its own devices, flexible strip follows whatever is behind it: every dip in a surface, every high spot in a substrate, and every place the adhesive lets go. In a channel it holds a line, and a line is what the eye reads as deliberate.
It also protects the run. The strip sits down inside the section rather than proud of the surface, so it is out of the way of knocks, cleaning and anything sliding past it.
This channel is plastic rather than aluminium. Plastic is lighter, cheaper and easier to work with, and it will not corrode - which is why it suits damp positions and jobs where the run has to follow an awkward line.
What plastic does not do is move heat. On a run that will be on for long stretches, or in a warm space, an aluminium channel is the better choice for how the strip ages. For intermittent or decorative use, plastic is perfectly sound.
Cut it to length before the strip goes in, and de-burr the cut end - a sharp edge inside a channel is exactly where a silicone-jacketed strip gets nicked as it is pushed home.
Work out the total length of the run and allow for the fact that joins are more visible partway along a straight run than they are at a corner or a natural break.
⚠ Channels are sized to a particular strip profile. Confirm that yours is 20mm x 13mm IP68 Haviflex - 950mm Length strip before ordering - a strip that is a millimetre too wide will not seat, and one that is too narrow will not stay put.
No. It is a plastic mounting channel - a component. There is no LED strip or driver with it.
20mm x 13mm IP68 Haviflex - 950mm Length strip. These parts are sized to one strip section and do not interchange.
Plastic will not corrode and is easier to work, but it does not move heat. For long-duration runs an aluminium channel is better for how the strip ages.
