Placin Floor Lamp 1Lt

The Placin is a 1,600 mm floor lamp with an ivory fabric drum shade on a white marble base, in antique gold or bronze — and its height adjusts.

Adjustable height, which most floor lamps are not

The stem telescopes, so you can set the shade at reading height beside a chair or lift it to clear a sofa arm. That single feature is worth more in practice than most decorative details — the same lamp works beside a low armchair and a high-backed sofa.

Antique gold or bronze — not brass or copper

Our old copy called them brass and copper. The stocked finishes are antique gold (warm, soft, slightly aged) and bronze (darker, browner). Both are matt rather than polished.

A wide ivory drum

ø400 mm of fabric diffuses in every direction, so the Placin lights the room as well as the chair. Ivory rather than white keeps the light warm-toned — worth knowing if you are matching it to cool-white downlights.

White marble at the base

Stone gives a tall adjustable lamp the stability it needs, and white marble is lighter visually than the black marble used elsewhere in the range. Being natural, every base is veined differently.

E27 to 25 W, not supplied

An ordinary replaceable globe on a 2 m cable. Dimming depends on the globe and the dimmer.

One E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied; dimming is globe dependent. 240 V, Class II — double insulated, no earth required, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.
