Pinta LED Step Light with Eyelid CCT 2.3W White Havit Lighting - HV2923T, HV2924T

This is the white Pinta with an eyelid: the same small round surface-mounted exterior fitting, in poly powder coated white on an aluminium body. Havit describes the range as wall or step lights, and white is the finish people reach for when the fitting should disappear into a rendered or painted wall rather than sit on it as a feature. The eyelid is a fixed hood over the top of the aperture, which pushes the light downward and keeps the LED out of direct view from above.

Two part numbers, one fitting, two supplies. HV2923T-WHT is the 240 V AC model and is wired to mains with an earth. HV2924T-WHT is the 12 V DC model, which Havit lists as low voltage requiring no earth, and it must be run from an appropriate 12 V LED driver — the installation instructions say DO NOT CONNECT LIGHT FITTING DIRECTLY TO 240V in capitals. Both sell here at the same price, so pick the one that matches the circuit rather than the one that looks cheaper to run.

Output is the same on both part numbers. The LED is built in, so there is no globe to source and no lampholder to match. It is tri-colour selectable and the output moves with the setting: 160 lm at 3000 K, 170 lm at 4000 K, 180 lm at 5500 K, from a maximum of 2.3 W. Beam angle is 120°, the diffuser is glass, colour rendering is CRI>80, and the fitting is not dimmable on either supply. It ships preset to 3000 K; the electrician moves the switch above the PCB to change it before the face goes back on.

Fitting it, and the conditions that carry warranty consequences. The installation type is Wall — Surface Mounted. A base plate is fixed first and every hole in it, including the cable entry and the screw holes, has to be sealed. The cable tail is 150 mm — shorter than the brass Pinta's 300 mm, so allow for it when positioning the outlet. There is no terminal block: the conductors are stripped, twisted, soldered, then covered with adhesive-lined heat shrink or a gel cap, and Havit states that failure to do this will void warranty. Multiple fittings on one run are wired in parallel. For the 12 V part number only, the supply at the fitting must be within ±5% of the required voltage and the fitting must be no further than 25 m from the LED driver, or the warranty is void.

One siting restriction, quoted as Havit writes it. The installation instructions state that aluminium and 304SS fittings must not be installed within 5 km of any salt water environments. This fitting has an aluminium body, so that clause covers it — worth knowing before it goes on a coastal project, because it is a warranty exclusion rather than a suggestion. Elsewhere it is sealed to IP65, rated IK10 for impact, and carries 3 Years Replacement warranty on items ordered after 01-01-2022, on the condition that the o-rings and seals are correctly seated. Where Havit publishes nothing we have left it out: there is no face-diameter figure given as a specification on either of this model's sheets, only unlabelled numbers on a dimension drawing, so measure the base plate you are handed.
