Product Description
xThe Penros EX1 is a 205 mm single exterior wall light in solid brass or 316 stainless steel with glass — 3 W giving 295 lm at 3000 K, IP65 — in antique brass, natural brass or stainless steel.
295 lumens from 3 watts — and why that number matters here
Worth comparing directly with the Vostel, which is the same 205 mm, the same 3 W, the same materials and the same IP65. The Vostel gives 125 lm. The Penros gives 295 lm — well over twice as much light for the same power. The difference is the optic and the diffuser, and it changes what each is for:
- Vostel — the quieter accent. A lit marker on a wall.
- Penros — bright enough to actually light a doorway while staying the same slim size.
Solid brass or 316 stainless — and the table said otherwise
316 is the marine grade of stainless, with added molybdenum to resist salt; solid brass weathers rather than corrodes. On a coastal house that is the whole reason to buy these instead of painted aluminium.
The old specification table said “Material: Solid Brass, Finish: Antique” for every variant — including the stainless one. Corrected: the two brass finishes are solid brass, the stainless variant is 316 stainless steel.
Natural brass ages; the others do not
Natural brass is unlacquered and patinas to a soft brown-gold outdoors — which is what most buyers of solid brass are after. Antique brass starts dark and stays close to it. 316 stainless stays silver. Decide by whether you want the fitting to change.
A slim vertical on a 45-degree beam
205 mm tall by 38 mm wide, projecting 65 mm on a 55 mm backplate, at 0.525 kg. The 45° beam is comparatively tight, so it throws defined cones up and down the wall rather than a broad wash — a stronger, more graphic effect on render or stone.
IP65 and Class II. Dust-tight and rated against water jets, so it takes open weather and a hose — unlike the IP54 fittings in this range. Double insulated, no earth required, which simplifies an exterior install. Not dimmable.

Questions
How does it compare to the Vostel?
Same height, same 3 W, same materials, same IP65 — but the Penros gives 295 lm where the Vostel gives 125. Well over twice the light for the same power, because of the optic and diffuser. The Vostel is the quieter accent; the Penros actually lights a doorway.
What is it actually made of?

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.
Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.
Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.
Damaged or Missing Items
Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.
If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.
Returns
Change of Mind Returns
- Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
- The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Cancellations
Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
