Product Description
xThe Pedral PE23 is a 230 mm traditional coach-style outdoor pendant in black or bronze with textured glass — one E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied, IP44, on a 1,750 mm suspension.
You can hang it on chain, on rod, or on both — and the sentence saying so was cut off mid-word. Our page ended at “chain, rod, or both—ideal for enhancing classic outdoor settin—”.
Outdoors, that choice is a wind decision, and it is worth making deliberately:
- Chain gives the traditional look and lets the lantern move. In a sheltered porch that is charming. In an exposed or windy position it swings, which looks restless, wears the flex over years, and can knock against a wall or post.
- Rod holds the lantern rigid and still. It is the right answer for anywhere that catches wind, for a lower ceiling where a swinging fitting is at head height, and anywhere you want the lantern to stay square to the building.
- Both together lets you make up an exact drop — rod for the rigid upper section, chain below for the traditional look, or simply to reach a height neither gives on its own.

An outdoor pendant — an unusual thing to be able to buy
Most exterior lighting is wall-mounted or ground-mounted, because most outdoor areas have no ceiling. The Pedral pendant is for the ones that do:
- A covered porch or entry, hung centrally over the door.
- A verandah, in a run down its length.
- An alfresco or outdoor-room ceiling, over a table.
- A carport or a covered walkway.
- A gazebo or pergola with a solid roof.
And because Pedral is made as both a pendant and a wall light, an entry can carry the pendant over the door and lanterns either side in the same language — which very few exterior ranges allow.
⚠ No weight is recorded for either Pedral pendant, though the matching wall lights record 2.5 and 3.5 kg. A hanging fitting on a 1,750 mm drop needs that figure more than a wall light does — and an outdoor one that may move in wind needs it most of all. Ask us before the fixing is chosen.
Same globe as every other Pedral
One E27 to 25 W, not supplied — identical to the 180 mm pendant and both wall lights. The larger pendant is not the brighter one.
The textured glass means the globe still shows, softened and distorted rather than hidden. So:
- A decorative LED filament — globe or ST64 — reads as a warm glowing core, which is what the lantern is designed around.
- Rated for ENCLOSED fittings — it is sealed, and heat with nowhere to go is what kills LED globes.
- Warm 2700 K, or it looks like a security light.
- Hanging several down a verandah? Buy the globes together — mismatched lanterns in a run are obvious from the garden.
And it dims, with the right globe — our record says “No”, the datasheet and page say globe dependent, and they are right. Over an outdoor table that is worth having.
IP44 — covered positions only, which for a pendant is almost self-selecting: it needs a ceiling to hang from. Our page has it right at “Outdoor (Covered Area)”. Splashing water, not driving rain or jets — so an open-sided verandah that takes rain sideways is not the place for it.

Rod holds it rigid and still, which is right anywhere that catches wind or where a swinging fitting would be at head height. Both together lets you make up an exact drop. Our page was cut off mid-word saying the option exists.
Where can an outdoor pendant actually go?
Anywhere with a covered ceiling — a porch or entry hung over the door, a verandah in a run, an alfresco ceiling over a table, a carport, a covered walkway, or a gazebo with a solid roof. Most exterior lighting is wall or ground mounted because most outdoor areas have no ceiling; this is for the ones that do.

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.
Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.
Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.
Damaged or Missing Items
Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.
If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.
Returns
Change of Mind Returns
- Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
- The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Our Rights
We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.
Cancellations
Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
