Product Description
xThe Pedral PE18 is a 180 mm traditional coach-style outdoor pendant in black or bronze with textured glass — one E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied, IP44, on a 1,750 mm suspension.
It hangs on chain, on rod, or on both — and our page was cut off mid-word saying so. Outdoors that is a wind decision:
- Chain is the traditional look and lets the lantern move. Charming under a sheltered porch; restless in an exposed position, where it swings, wears the flex over years and can knock against a post.
- Rod holds it rigid and still — the right answer anywhere that catches wind, and anywhere a swinging fitting would be at head height.
- Both lets you make up an exact drop when neither alone gives the height.

The small one — and it gives exactly the same light
Both Pedral pendants take the same single E27 to 25 W. The 180 mm is not the dimmer option; it is the same lantern at a smaller scale, and 300 mm tall against the 230 mm version's 340.
That makes it the one to use in numbers. A run of three or four small lanterns down a verandah or a covered walkway is better proportioned than the same run in the large size, and gives more total light than one big one — which, since every Pedral takes the same globe, is the only way to get more light from this range.
It also suits a lower covered ceiling, where a 340 mm lantern on a long drop starts to intrude.
Where an outdoor pendant goes
Most exterior lighting is wall or ground mounted, because most outdoor areas have no ceiling. This is for the ones that do — covered porches, verandahs, alfresco ceilings, carports, covered walkways and solid-roofed pergolas.
And since Pedral is made as pendants and wall lanterns, an entry can carry a pendant over the door with lanterns either side in the same language, which very few exterior ranges allow.
⚠ No weight is recorded for either Pedral pendant, though the matching wall lights record 2.5 and 3.5 kg. On a 1,750 mm drop outdoors, where the fitting may move in wind, that is the figure your electrician needs. Ask us before the fixing is chosen — particularly for a run of several.
The globe, behind textured glass
Textured glass scatters rather than hiding, so you see a softened, distorted form of the globe. One E27 to 25 W, not supplied:
- A decorative LED filament — globe or ST64 — reads as a warm glowing core, which is what a coach lantern is designed around.
- Rated for ENCLOSED fittings, because it is sealed and heat with nowhere to go kills LED globes.
- Warm 2700 K — cool white makes it a security light.
- Hanging a run? Buy them all together, same brand: mismatched lanterns along a verandah are obvious from the garden.
It dims, with the right globe. Our record says “No”; the datasheet and our page both say globe dependent, and they are right. Over an outdoor table, or along a verandah in the evening, that is worth having — and in a run, matched globes are what keeps them flicker-free on one dimmer.
IP44 — covered positions only. Splashing water, not driving rain or jets, so an open-sided verandah taking rain sideways is not the place for it. Our page has it right at “Outdoor (Covered Area)”. 180 mm wide by 300 mm high, canopy 100 mm, in aluminium and textured glass, Class I — earth required.

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.
Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.
Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.
Damaged or Missing Items
Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.
If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.
Returns
Change of Mind Returns
- Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
- The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Our Rights
We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.
Cancellations
Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
