The Domus PARIS PILLAR MOUNT is a lantern for the top of a masonry pillar — 500 mm high, die-cast aluminium and moulded acrylic, IP43, 1 × B22, in five colours.
| You have | ⭐ Take | Why |
|---|---|---|
| ⭐ A masonry pillar or pier | ⭐ This pillar mount | ⭐ Sits flat on the top course |
| A 60 mm metal post | The Paris post top | Slides over the spigot |
| Bare ground | A complete Paris postlight | ⭐ Comes with its own post |
| A wall | A Paris wall bracket | S-arm or half |
⭐ At 500 mm high it is the tallest of the three lantern-only options — ⚠ which suits a pier, because a pier is usually wide and a short lantern on a wide base looks squat. ⭐ On a 350 mm square pier, a 500 mm lantern reads as proportionate.
⭐ Spray to 60° from vertical only. ✅ Rain is fine. ⛔ A garden sprinkler aimed at the driveway is not, ⚠ and a pier beside a lawn is exactly where a sprinkler head tends to sit. ⭐ Check the irrigation layout as well as the cable.
⭐ “Requires: 1 × B22 Globe (not included).” ⭐ Bayonet, like the rest of the range except the half wall bracket. ⛔ No maximum wattage published. ⭐ Prefer LED in an enclosed acrylic lantern.
| Specification | Value |

Pillar-mount lantern. W 175 × H 500 mm. Die-cast aluminium with moulded acrylic lens. IP43. 240 V AC. 1 × B22 lamp required, not included. Made in Italy, assembled and powder coated in Australia. Five colours. 12-month replacement warranty. Made to order, allow up to 10 business days. ⭐ THE CABLE HAS TO COME UP THROUGH THE MASONRY, AND THAT IS NOT SOMETHING YOU ADD LATER. A conduit through a rendered pier has to be built in; retro-fitting means chasing the face or running cable up the outside, both of which undo the reason for choosing a pillar light. ⭐ DECIDE THE LIGHT, TELL THE BRICKLAYER, THEN BUILD — and add a draw wire. ⛔ Nothing on the listing says any of this, and it is the most consequential thing about the product.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
The cable route. A pillar mount sits on top of a masonry pillar — a gate pier, a fence pillar, a letterbox column — which means the cable has to come up through the masonry. That is not something you add later.
Because a conduit through a rendered brick pier has to be built in. Retro-fitting one means either chasing the face or surface-mounting cable up the outside, and both undo the reason for choosing a pillar light in the first place. A 25mm conduit from the footing to the top of the pier costs almost nothing at construction and is effectively impossible afterwards.
Decide the light, tell the bricklayer, then build. And add a draw wire while the conduit is open, so the cable can be replaced later without opening anything. Nothing on the Domus listing says any of this, and it is the single most consequential thing about the product.
By what you already have. A masonry pillar or pier takes this pillar mount, which sits flat on the top course. A 60mm metal post takes the Paris post top, which slides over the spigot. Bare ground takes a complete Paris postlight, which comes with its own post. A wall takes a Paris wall bracket.
Usually, yes. At 500mm it is the tallest of the three lantern-only options, which suits a pier because a pier is generally wide and a short lantern on a wide base looks squat. On a 350mm square pier a 500mm lantern reads as proportionate.
More than you might think. IP43 covers spray to 60 degrees from vertical, so rain is fine — but a garden sprinkler aimed at the driveway is not, and a pier beside a lawn is exactly where a sprinkler head tends to sit. Check the irrigation layout as well as the cable route.
The base fixing centres, the cable entry position and the maximum lamp wattage. The first two matter because the bricklayer needs them before the top course goes on. Ask us and we will get them from Domus before you build.
